COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle. 5.0%. Best before 01.13. Pours a slightly hazy, dull yellow/golden with an off-white head. Good lacing. Sweetish, hoppy aroma; not a lot going on at first, but as it warms, the hops develops a spicy touch. Flavour is tart, sweet and hoppy with notes of hay. A bit dusty. Tart finish with hops and a somewhat dry, mild bitterness lingering. Overall not bad, but sort of dull. 17.11.12.

0.6 bottle. Clear, yellow in color with a medium, white head which dissipates very quickly. Aroma is mostly hop, grass, alcohol and spruce but also some warmer malty scents with an addition of butter and cookies. Taste is delicate, nicely balanced, bittersweet, vanilla, toffee and buttery. Medium-bodied, texture is somewhat creamy but due to slight wateriness appears delicately thin as well, carbonation counts as soft but with a slight inclination towards average. Finish is pretty sweet, creamy, soothing, not insistent, has fine notes of caramel, again vanilla, butter and even some carnations. I am partial to simple English ales, but objectively speaking this is still a nice brew and even though I know the brewery for its quality, this one simply was not expected to be so fine.
