COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: previously known as "Aarhus Høstbryg".

This is basically a classic winter-warmer, but very much with a typically danish lager heritage. I find it uninteresting at best. Craftsmanwise there’s nothing to put your finger on, but it’s just not that good in it’s class. Boring through and through, but it gets your tummy full. Typically danish, even though it tries to be english. What a let down..

Bottle at ChrisO Holiday Tasting, London - thanks to Ronny. Pours amber-brown with a small, tan cap. Sugary brown bread on the nose, some cardboard. Good and malty flavor with rich bread, toasty sugars. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Rich and bready toast to finish, low bitterness. Good balance. Very tasty. Simple, yes, but good too.

Bottle at Chriso’s tasting in London, 121230. Amber beer with a small but lasting offwhite head. Malty roasted aroma, caramel, chocolate, cocoa powder, vanilla notes. Malty fruity flavor, probably a bit infected or just plain bad.

The head is medium, the body chestnut-red. It smells darkmalty, sweet, hazelnut. The taste is woody, hazelnuts, nutty, dry, plum, raisin, fruity-aromatic, full bodied and a bit dry-chocolate. Overall very good, intensive, intereting and tasty. 12/12/12/12/12/12

A clear red/brown colored beer, with a small beige head. The aroma of malt, with some red fruits and apple. A little hop. The taste is sweet, malty and has red fruits, some hops and hints of spices. The aftertaste is gentle sweet and also bitter.

0.6 bottle. Sweet malty aroma of caramel, nuts and a tad vanilla with a touch of hops. Dark amber color with nearly no head, clear. Sweet heavy malty taste with a bit of bitterness alongside. Full body and a thick texture, average carbonation. Fine aftertaste, very much like the taste itself, gives an impression of strength, warmth and concreteness. Good one, though the specific tastes should be more distinct, it feels like one could sample them all only if it was slightly heated up.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2012 The beer is a half years to old, but still a slight hop aroma. Soft rounded ale taste, weird that it do note taste more of alcohol. New it is ok but all too malty.

From bottle. A sweet flavour with a strong taste of alcohol. Smells a bit of yeast. Nice golden colour with a nice dark creamy head.
