Bottle at ChrisO Holiday Tasting, London - thanks to Ronny. Pours amber-brown with a small, tan cap. Sugary brown bread on the nose, some cardboard. Good and malty flavor with rich bread, toasty sugars. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Rich and bready toast to finish, low bitterness. Good balance. Very tasty. Simple, yes, but good too.

Dark bread and applejuice on the aroma. Breakfast! Dark bread, malty and slight apple on the flavor as well. Very bland to be honest. Could’ve been so much better.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
60 cl bottle from Bilka, Denmark. Clear, nut golden body with a small light brown head. Rock sugar on the nose and also acetic hints or maybe apple cider vinegar. Tastes pungently sweet and feels full bodied and warming with a balancing and almost meaty bitterness. However the bitterness develops some of those papery tones that drag the overall impression down.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. 8.0%. Best before 07.14. Pours a clear amber with a diminishing light tan/off-white head. Slight lacing. Aroma is tart, bordering sour, with cereals, fruit and a remote spicy note. Flavour is malty with dark fruits, and a light hop note in the background. A bit oxidised. Dryish, grainy finish with a lingering apple note. Meh. 26.02.14.

600 ml bottle, brought from Aarhus by my son Magnus, thanks! ABV is 8%. Clear deep golden to amber colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Aroma of malts, caramel, brown sugar and apples, a hint of spices and vomit(!). Fruity flavour with notes of apples and malts, not too sweet, easy drinking for its strength. The bitterness is very moderate.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
This is basically a classic winter-warmer, but very much with a typically danish lager heritage. I find it uninteresting at best. Craftsmanwise there’s nothing to put your finger on, but it’s just not that good in it’s class. Boring through and through, but it gets your tummy full. Typically danish, even though it tries to be english. What a let down..
