From the Bottle at TAP 1, Copenhagen 08/05/2010 Some roast aroma. Dark coloured with some alcohol present. Hoppy with a hint of dryness in a roast finish.

(60 cl bottle courtesy of our Airbnb host, cheers!) Poured at room temperature into original glassware reveals a pitch black body with three finger toffee head that transforms into a fluffy one finger head after a few seconds. It seems to disappear after a minute however leaving no discernible lace. Some regeneration but it’s quick to fade. Aroma is somewhat weak with initial notes of roasted malt and a slightly metallic hint along with dust, straw and chalk. The aroma on this one is a huge disappointment given the ABV and it being served at room temperature. On the palate it leaves a rather unpleasant taste like having licked an ashtray with bitterness and notes of roasted grain. Oily to water texture, medium body, soft carbonation and the aforementioned drying bitter roasted finish. Flavour is thin and ashy. Very disappointing.

08-AUG-2015, bottle @home, present from Erik, thx. 😄 Dark, dark brown with tan head. Very sweet malt. Caramel, almost buttery. Dark berries. Never burnt and hardly very roasted. Medium+ body, soft carbonation. I am not all that fond of this.

DAAIÅ; Tap at Peter Gift. Poured moderate, black with a frothy to creamy, fading, still some lacing tan head. Nose is moderate to heavy, roasted malt, coffee and moderate dark dried fruit. Taste is moderate sweet and bitter with a moderate lasting, balanced, dry roasted and sweet dark fruit finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is avarage.

Imperial stout? More like uncarbonated cola.... but with the taste of a brown ale... *sigh* ... Aarhus bryghus..

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2015 Bottle, 3 years old... A stout? More an imp. brown ale. Toasty, sweet, malts. Slight caramel. Tastes like uncarbonated cola. Sugary and grainy.

Sample at Danske Ölentusiaster Festival 2015. Dark almost black beer with a decent beige/brownish head. Roasted chocolate and tar aroma, licorice, vinous, coffee notes, some caramel. Roasted chocolate flavor, cocoa, tar, vinous, licorice notes, some warming alcohol. Ok but thin bodied.
