COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Klosterbryg er brygget på pilsnermalt, hvedemalt og karamelmalt. Det er krydret med tre forskellige typer af aromahumle, som matcher maltene. Dette er en øl med 6% alkohol, som er i stil med India Pale Ale.

(bottle) hazy golden with a small creamy lace. Malty, grassy, soapy aroma with notes of honey and oranges. Round soapy flavour of male malts and oranges with touches of spices and green hops. Orangey bitter aftertaste.

Mads Langtved (2245) - Copenhagen K, DENMARK - SEP 23, 2005
Extremely fruity with notes of citrus. Hazy yellow appearance. Very fruity flavour, but unfortunetely it is somewhat sour. I don’t know why they call a sour IPA an abbey beer. Strange name for a strange IPA.

Dixen (1465) - Flagstaff, Arizona, USA - SEP 22, 2005
Very fruity aroma, notes of exotic fruits. Slight hazy yellow body, with a medium sized white head. Fruity flavor, with an acidic touch, ends on a grape fruity note.

joergen (20640) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 20, 2005
UPDATED: SEP 21, 2005 Bottled. Cloudy orange coloured with an off white head. Aroma is dominated by spices with notes of hops and malts. Flavour is dominated by spices (especially coriander) with notes of citrus and hops. Hoppy finish. Very interesting abbey-ale, but haven’t much to do with an IPA.

Jeppe (2631) - Ølbutikken, DENMARK - SEP 13, 2005
Foamy snow white head, slightly hazy golden body. Acidid lemony and orangy fruity aroma with tones of herbs, yeast and hay. Pilsner malt and a bit of hop in the flavor. Citrus and hay tones in there also. Fresh, but not very IPA-like, more like a hoppy pilsner. Foamy mouthfeel. Drinkable, but not too interesting.

Draught at Cockney pub Århus. Cloudy golden with a small but creamy head. Aroma of yeast and fruit. Nice oily mouthfeel with just the right amount of carbonation.

Draught the cockney pub. Golden with a nice head. Malty-sweet, hops, leather, yeast, bit of citrus.

Ungstrup (29207) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - AUG 14, 2005
A hazy orange beer with a dense off-white head. The aroma is sweet yeasty with notes of straw and alcohol - and estery from warm fermentation. The flavor is very fruity and quite sharp with hints of metal, but also with notes of yeast, alcohol, caramel, spices, and straw, leading to a dry hoppy end - my guess is Goldings hops. The body is quite powerful.

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2005 (On tap) Presumably the debut brew from Aarhus Bryghus. And much contrary to most other micros this was on the taps earlier than expected!
Pale amber golden, slightly hazy and pretty much without any head - typically British appearance. Some caramel and fruit in the nose. Malty, fruity even slightly citrusy flavours with a good, solid hoppy finish. Not a bad start from master brewer Niels Buchwald. 050805
