Alengrin (2928) - BELGIUM - APR 26, 2015
Recreation of an old Aarschot beer tradition, apparently commissioned by the town of Aarschot itself; very thin and quickly dissolving, off-white head over a misty bronze beer with yellowish hue. Aroma of overripe peach, yoghurt, green apple, wine vinegar, walnuts but also rainwater and a disturbing presence of something sulphuric, not unlike rotten egg, so I suspect H2S. Restrained sweetness and peachy fruitiness in the mouth, some caramelly maltiness, smooth and rather thin body, dry tartness but not in the most elegant way (as in sour milk). Could have been a lot better, in this form it does not really honour the Aarschotse Bruine tradition, I’m afraid.

Sampled @ ZBF 2015. Hazy orange, little white head. Nose is vinegar, rotting, spoiled yoghurt, lactic,… Taste is spoiled yoghurt, mineral, esters, spoiled mineral, watery, mineral watery,… Nope, just not good in my opinion. (Thx! for sharing people!)

Kr1zz (217) - BELGIUM - JAN 23, 2015
Bottle from best beers from Belgium shop in Leuven. Color is more amber than brown in my opinion. Big white head. Watery taste with a sweet & sour taste. Artificial sweeteners... I really didn’t like this one.

Bottle from Belgian Beer Shop, Leuven. Murky brown colour, creamy white foam, a lot of particles. Medium carbonation. Dusty aroma with hints of green apples, red berries. Vinous character. Medium sour, light bitter. Ok.

Bottle . Pours clear , amberbrown . No real head . Smell is sweet , fleshy . Taste is walnuts , leaves , earthy a bit in a twisted way . Harsh . Tard , too old , dusty , madeira in a bad way . Yet the ending is drinkable

Torrefacto (800) - Madrid, SPAIN - SEP 12, 2014
Caoba sucio con espuma marfil ligera. Aromas de caramelo, canela y frutos rojos. Cuerpo ligero-medio, inicio dulce, acaramelado con delicada y fresca acidez, final seco. Muy rica.

24/VIII/13 - 75cl bottle @ Bierweekend Lambiekstoempers (Alsemberg) - BB: n/a (2013-800) Thanks to T. for sharing today’s beers!

Clear light amber beer, huge off-white head, very stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: grains, some caramel, spicy, hay, bit sugary. MF: ok carbon, light to medium body. Taste: sour start, very soapy, metallic, unpleasant. Aftertaste: sour, chemical, rubber, soapy. This is really bad and infected. And I was not the only one at the table with that opinion!

diabel (1619) - Aarschot, BELGIUM - OCT 7, 2012
Hazy browwn body with an orange touch. Off-white creamy herad. Aroma of hops, citrus, caramalts; well balanced. Well balanced lighlty lactic acid sour, moderately bitter flavour. Nice one!
