Bottle. Red-brown, small head which quickly disappears. Thin body. Sweet malty smell. Taste is a little bit sweet, hints of caramel, a little bit roasted, a little bit nutty. OK Norwegian grocery store bayer.

Aass Bayer represents the genre of "bayer", which is the traditional Norwegian term for the darker-shaded lager beers originally from Bavaria, Germany. It is a typical of the sort: dark malts, caramel look as well as flavor. It is a smooth and drinkable beer but that’s about it. Not much character, so the rating will be accordingly mediocre.

Dark color with caramel malt and aroma. Fine bitterness for this beer-type. Best Norwegian commercial beer?

Can. Pours dark orange, 2cm offwhite head. Fairly sweet aroma, some toasted notes, caramel, but mostly metallic notes. Flavour is the same, with a too harsh metallic hop finish. A bit watery, light body, fizzy carb.
