2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 SilkTork (4691) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - APR 6, 2007
ChrisFest A beer I have wanted for some years. It is the first beer in Jackson’s 500 Classic Brews. Sadly the best before date was 7 days ago, and it does smell and taste old. Toffee in a school blazer pocket. Sweet malty finish. Not the beer I was hoping to drink.

A Mes rate: 33cl bottle at Chris O’s extravaganza. Brown colour with a swiftly dissiapating tan head. Marmite, malt, wheat and straw. Flavour is similar with some extra sweetness. A lighly roasted character to it too. Not bad.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Maria (7805) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAR 2, 2007
The head is nice, creamy and lasting. The aroma is malty/roasted malt. At first the flavour is rather sweet, but then it’s accompanied by a nice bitterness (an a brief watery feeling) , that has notes of hops, licorice and roasted malt. A nice surprise, but drink it cold, otherwise it’s too sweet.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 dunkpigen (379) - Kolding, DENMARK - FEB 17, 2007
Pours a dark amber with a small creamy head. Roasted and caramel malt aroma. Flavour also of roasted and caramel malt and ends up with a vinious feel. (Bottle)
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 thewolf (8241) - Kolding, DENMARK - FEB 17, 2007
Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a thin, but quite creamy head. Aroma has lots of malts - roasted and caramel. Flavour is sweet. Actually a quite complex set of flavours. Starts of as a malty sweetness, then turns slightly smoky and roasted. As it goes down a slight viniousness remains as well as a citric bitterness. A touch of metallic that will probably disappear as i heats up in the glass.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 haukur (740) - Reykjavik, ICELAND - JAN 8, 2007
interesting aroma of malts and lettuce (?). Some dried fruit also. Taste is about the same, some plums and raisins also. A bit thin on the palate but well masked. A funky bock!!

Bottle. Pours deep amber with a small, lasting, creamy, tan head. Strong aroma of dark malt and caramel. Taste is moderatly sweet and lightly bitter, dominated by malt, toffee and dark dried fruits. Surprisingly light-bodied. Very smooth and easy to drink. A nice bock.
