2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 stunetii (90) - Bergen, NORWAY, NORWAY - FEB 26, 2011
Nothing special here. Aroma is decent, and a bit hopped. Taste is slightly bitter all the way through, with a somewhat unpleasantly tasting aftertaste. Fatøl (literally draft/keg beer – in this case in a can) is supposed have a fuller flavor and creamier than other lagers. But, this one is simply lacking. While Aass does make a few good products, if you are really interested in trying a fatøl, Hansa’s or Frydenlund’s is a far better representation in my opinion.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 BillHick420 (104) - North Dakota, USA - JAN 7, 2011
.33 liter can. Pours slighlt golden with a frothy white head. Notes of malty sweetness, with a metallic note. A bitter hops flavor all the way through that makes the beer unbalanced. Not even a decent lager.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 abstractbeer (170) - NORWAY - NOV 16, 2010
Can 0,5 l, not poured into glass. Very nice foral hop aroma, unusually present hop aroma for a Norwegian macro brew! But I’ve noticed that also in other Aass beers. A bit unbalanced towards bitterness, but not unpleasant. Very weak aroma of hay and a hint of sourness in a barn-/haylike way - which is not bad! Watery mouthfeel, very easy to drink. Like the newborn baby of the mother of all IPAs! If this one grew up, so to speak, it could be a good IPA, perhaps, but unfortunately it’s just an infant and will never grow up. In my opinion far from a great beer, but for a Norwegian macro brew it’s one of the best, all things considered.
