Can. Aroma of malt, bread and berries. Golden amber colour with beige head. Taste of bread, caramel and a bit of honey. Bitter but only short lasting finish.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2010 Always a bit funny to see the ratebeer categorizations compared to the marketing of beers: I BET Aass had absolutely NO clue they were brewing a "Scottish Ale", just as Grans probably were equally unaware they made a "Vienna" as their flagship Christmas beer... :-) Pours a (pretty non-pale...) amber body with a thin, off-white head. Smell is raspberries and dark malts. Taste is surprisingly fruity, with notes of raspberry, vanilla, grass and sweet malts. Earthy hints. Rather nice, actually, if it wasn’t for the slight metallic notes appearing throughout the aftertaste. Light-bodied and very drinkable, Gourmet Pale Ale just barely keeps head above "watery". Smooth, relatively complex and well-blended; this is really a positive surprise for an ale of such a low ABV. Props to Aass for this one, they should definitely develop a higher ABV for sale at Vinmonopolet - it could be really good. In my humble opinion, this one is seriously underrated.

Amber with a white head - malty aroma with some hints of hops - tasty with malt and more hop in the taste than in the aroma, a little thin in the finish but still an enjoyable beer

Can 50 cl. Pours copper red with a light beige small long lasting dense head. Burnt caramell, grass and metallic notes in aroma. Flavor is lightly sweet with lots of raisin. Body feels thin and there is almost no aftertaste.

Can 50 cl. Amber, clear with a large offwhite head. The aroma and flavor are with some hops and sence of caramel, watery.

Nice copper brown colour. Taste like old, frozen pizza the day after mixed with potatochips.

11.04.2009, 0,5l Can. The colour is amber, Head is firm and white. This beer lookks nice. Aroma is weak and sour. There is a little sweetnes that is not balanced with hops. This is not a good pale ale. But I like the can! It is very nice designed for the Aass gourmet series.

Bottled. An amber beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, and so is the flavor, leading to a dry metallic finish.

Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Lots of bubbles from carbonation sticks on the glass. Aroma is grains, caramel and a lot of metal. Flavour is grassy, hoppy and bready malty along with some metallic notes. Not very much gourmet in this one.
