Smaskifa (17), Oslo, Norway Oct 8, 2008 Large head, dissappears fast. Smell of coffee. A lot of taste of coffee. sweet caramel and some hints of licorice far away, slightly hoppy finish. A bit watery and dull taste, not very much to enjoy. A ok beer if you can’t find anything else just before closing time. espenra (126), Oslo, Norway Aug 21, 2008 33cl bottle from ICA. It poured a dark brown colour with a big beige foamy head that settled down fast in the glass. The aroma smells of burned malts, raisins and liqorice. It has a bitter flavour that tastes of malts, caramel and water. It has a short aftertaste. NosirIwont (879), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark Jul 3, 2008 Bottle. 24 days past ’best before’. Pours a clear dark brown with a big frothy off-white/light brown head. Sweet malty aroma. Hops appear as it warms. Not very stout-like. Sweetish malty flavour. Finish is where this beer mostly resembles a stout; sweet, a bit roasted and with some alcohol. But feels rather thin. Overall this is more like a dark Czech or German-type beer than a stout. Still okay though, albeit not too interesting. 03-07-08. Papsoe (10500), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 10, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yngwie. Clear, reddish brown with a beige head. Lightly burned vinous aroma. Medium-bodied with lightly burned malts, some dried fruit and a light, underlying tartness. Dry and malt bitter finish. 080408 KimJohansen (4296), Copenhagen V, Denmark Apr 10, 2008 Dark brown with medium off white short lasting head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, coffee and caramel notes.
