2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Som vanlig norsk pils, bare litt mer "bitt" (mer humle, malt og % gir litt mer smak. God balanse. Hvorfor kan de ikke lage butikkøl med denne kvaliteten?

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Light hazy golden colour with a white head. Light fruity nose. A light dull malty and fruity flavour. I expected a litte bit more out of this 5.5%. It is not bad, but not good either. Actually quite pale....

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2013 Oh no! This one is registered as a Pale Lager, I thought it was supposed to be a Strong Pale Lager! How am I ever going to dethrone Pale Lagers from the top of my most rated beer style list when things like this happen? Anyway, in the glass the Aass Gull doesn’t look that inviting: it’s very pale yellow and slightly hazy, and the white head is short lived and doesn’t leave much lacing. The aroma however is much more tempting. Sure, it smells pale lager like, with grainy notes and pale malts, but there there is also a pleasant caramel sweetness and even traces of sweet fruits. The taste is moderate sweet with a light dry light bitter finish. Sweet caramel and fruity flavours. Quite pleasant mouthfeel, the extra alcohol makes body somewhat fuller, and the texture is quite smooth despite the medium carbonation. A pleasant surprise, considerably better than the Ringnes Extra Gold that I had yesterday. The bitterness is quite light, but at least it’s clean and pleasant, as opposed to the metallic, sour, stinging bitterness of the Ringnes.
