3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is malty and sweet, with cherries, caramel, oak, dry with a slightly carbonated hint. Ruby red color with a nice off white head that slowly settles, leaving behind some very nice lacing. Flavor has caramel and malts, slightly sweet, and little less exciting than I was lead to expect from the aroma. Still a nice brew.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A dark crimson color, and a tiny, swiftly gone head are the visual hallmarks of this Norwegian holiday lager. Aroma is dark and hearty, but gives off no particular associations. I'll stretch out my nostrils and give it a try...toasty, nutty, dark fruits, maybe, and a subtle whiff of chocolate?
Good flavor, great palate, medium body, and long finish. Clean, smooth, and a little caramely toward the end. I'm never very moved by this style, and this version didn't make a convert out of me. Nice try, though.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A friend of mine had a few selections of this beer and generously shared a couple with me. I thought it was an odd combination of a belgian style ale and a bottle of liquified dried fruit (well then it wouldn't be dried fruit anymore would it) maybe reconstituted dried fruit. At any rate, it wasn't too bad, I think it was an old bottle that doesn't age well... poured nicely with a large pink head and a ruby colored body, decent flavor of oak and malts. Hmm, interesting.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Ruby red pour with big pink head. Malty and sweet dried fruit tastes throughout. Could use a bit more hops though.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hmm, thought this would be more of a Jubel or Celebration style. This is a Belgian?!?
Pours a dark translucent brown with some head and just a bit of lacing.
Smells, well, skunky, to be honest. Damn if they didn't put this into a green bottle. While I realize that they don't get much sunlight in Norway, the rest of the world does.
Tastes not as skunky, thankfully, but still not great. Think of a fruity Newcastle Brown; yeah, that's it, with a little more mouthfeel and fruity flavors.
Mouthfeels is nothing special for this style. Drinkability is okay, but again nothing special.
Hmph. I was looking forward to this beer, too.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The first taste seemed like a Vienna, but as it warmed, it was sweeter and maltier, like a bock. Had some fruity notes (raisins) and a little nutty.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark red with a corn-starch aroma. Skunk of an old import. Sharp bite. A light-bodied beer but apparent of a high alcohol character (although it isn't).
