Tall beige head, amber orange body. Aroma of roasted malt, raisins, citrus, oranges and some spices. Flavor is sharp and not very complex. Roasted malt, spices and some fruit. Quite thin on the palate.

In the bottle from HyVee CB. Pours a very very dark brown with a medium thick beige head. Earthy, vineous aroma. Fairly bland flavor. A bit chalky in fact. There’s a mild tartness at first, then lots of raisins, followed by a quick chalky finish. There’s not much to this one. Now I know why it only costs $2.89 a bottle.

Bottle pored a clear reddish brown with a large lasting tan head. Aromas of carmel, spice, fruittiness and brown sugar. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel, vegetal notes and hints of spice with a crisp semisweet finish.
This is a very dissapointing Belgian beer!

Bright chestnut brown colour. Thin head. The aroma shows brown sugar, a sort of toasted caramel note. Fizzy and fairly thin but with decent caramel and brown sugar notes. Simple though, without fruitiness and with hardly any finish.

Brown-amber coloured beer with a light brown medium head. Slightly sour, malty aroma and taste. Rather short taste and a metallic finish.

0.33 l bottle. Mahagony color with diminishing head. Sweetish, raisiny, chocolatey and alcoholy aroma. Raisins, licorice, nuts, toffee, cola and tart fruitiness in the flavor. Some dull spiciness and yeastiness in the background.

Pours a very dark but clear ruby tinted brown with a 1 finger creamy tan head that has excellent retention. Aroma is caramel, toasty sweet grain, plum, date nut bread, sweet cooked squash covered in brown sugar. Flavor is toasted grain, floral notes, brown sugar, stale bread, some caramel and a little cardboard and spiciness to the finish. Palate is thin and dry with a sharp and very active carbonation. This was a little disappointing, it looks and smells alot better than it tastes and feels. The flavor is muted and uninteresting and the palate lacks any body while the carbonation gets in the way a bit. Still not bad but there are better dubbels out there for a better price.
