Bottle: Poures a dark brown/black with a thin light brown head. Sweet roasty malt that opens the nose up. The taste was very sweet and tasty malt, almost candy like. Finish was okay.

Valt zeer goed mee. Uitgesproken smaak, niet om te zeggen bij de beste bieren in België, maar een meer dan goede middenmoter

Being Belgian, I am fully aware of the lack of style standards among Belgian ales, but something in my head objects when I see a dark beer named ’triple’, at least if Westmalle Tripel is to be regarded as the prototype of the genre... So in spite of its name, in my classification this NOT a triple. Anyway: yellowish beige head, not very thick and eventually dissipating, colour a pure bronze, clear. Aroma dark malts (caramel, chocolate, hint of coffee), dates, blackcurrant, pear, a slight ’perfume’ of caramel candy, liquorice; mouthfeel smooth, rounded, a bit resinous, tastes sweetish (malt sweetness) with sharp carbonisation in the beginning and warming alcohol in the finish. A bit boring, like most of the ADA beers.

Pours dark red-brown. Aroma is pure caramel and in fact, so is the taste. Extremely sweet, slightly spicy, loads of carbonation. Just way too sweet.

Dark red/brown beer. Medium carbonation. Unbalanced beer. Aroma of caramel whit sweet and sour notes. Harsh bitter finish. Not good.

(Bottle, Delirium Monasterium, Brussels, 25 Oct 2013) Dark reddish brown colour with brief, beige head. Malty nose with caramel, dark bread and dried fruit. Malty taste with notes of caramel, dark bread, raisins, a touch of chocolate and a mild spicy bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Nothing unexpected, but tasty and quite nice.

Brune classique voilée, pétillance moyenne, mousse beige clair. Malts caramel torréfiés, notes de fruits foncés et de chocolat, un rien métallique, cola et sucre candi, petite amertume réglissée. Assez classique...

Taste: bit sugary, soapy bitterness, some mocha and chocolate, caramel. Aftertaste: yeasty, some chocolate, little bitter, metallic, bit sourish. Meh.
