4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20Dark brown with a pale tan head. This was an excellent Belgian dark ale. Just the right mix of sweet, malt, and alcohol flavors. It was very foamy, and bubbled out of the bottle after opening. A great alternative to champagne.

Clear dark red to brown beer, big frothy beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: yeasty, artifical lemony, sugary. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sugary, soapy bitterness, some mocha and chocolate, caramel. Aftertaste: yeasty, some chocolate, little bitter, metallic, bit sourish. Meh.

Bottle @ Willems Grobbendonk, Belgium. Pours dark ruby brown with a white head. Dark dried fruit, caramel and liquorice. Full bodied. Smooth and creamy texture.

33cl bottle @ home shared with Thompson. Deep dark red color, medium sized beige head that leaves decent lacing. Smell malts, lightly sweet. Taste malts, lightly sweet, lightly caramel. Medium carbo, low to medium body.

Very light beige head foamy stayed decent time. Dark with red glow. Creamy smell somewhat yeasty and maybe lemon. taste has very decent carbo, also maybe bit lemon. good alcoholic feeling. certainly not to bad, but for my lacks something.

E’ davvero un ottima birra. Al naso speziata e alcolica. Al palato è complessa calda e corposa; attacco dolce e uno sfumo di luppolo finale. Lieve sentore alcolico ma nasconde bene i suoi 8°. E’ una Tripel in tutto e per tutto. Oltretutto è pure molto buona

Ottima ottima davvero! Si sentenono molto i malti, decisamente dolce e con un buon odore frutato! Molto frizzante! Finale non troppo duraturo!

Found it on the bottom shelf of the cooler in a random assed liquor store. 750ml corked and caged botle. "Best before" 03/10/07.
It pours a hazy brown with a foamy off-white head that dissipates with no lacing.
The smell is tutti-fruity like some Belgina dark ales, along with some caramel.
The flavor is big and sweet. Tons of caramel. The yeast is pretty prevalent as well. There is some earthiness.
Not bad for being past its best by date.

750ml. bottle purchased at Mesa Liquor & Wine, San Diego, CA. Pours a dark red/brown, moderate carbonation and a medium tan head. Aroma is dark malt, Belgian yeast, and brown sugar/molasses. Taste is sweet malt, some chocolate, dark candy sugar and slightly bitter. Finish is warm and bitter. Decent ale.
