11.2 oz bottle. Dark brown with a thick tan head. Deep sweet malty aroma with light plumminess and a bit of light berry character as well. Light rum/molasses. Soft spiciness through the middle with lots of sweet toffeeish flavours. Some chocolatey notes with a fair bit of yeasty spiciness. As it warms, more yeasty fruitiness comes to the front with cherry and berry being the most obvious. Dark caramelly finish. Pretty tasty brew. I definitely wouldn’t call it a tripel... more of a dark strong ale, but I think it is very underrated.

Aug 16, 2008 Clear garnet with a fleeting head. Mild aroma is sweet earthy malts with molasses and rootbeer spice. Medium body. Nice earthy, yeasty dubble ale flavors with molasses, rootbeer spice. No hint of the 9% abv. Good dubble here.

Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, light hoppy, moderate to light heavy yeasty, anis. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (060408)
