JoeMcPhee (3671), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Aug 26, 2007 11.2 oz bottle. Dark brown with a thick tan head. Deep sweet malty aroma with light plumminess and a bit of light berry character as well. Light rum/molasses. Soft spiciness through the middle with lots of sweet toffeeish flavours. Some chocolatey notes with a fair bit of yeasty spiciness. As it warms, more yeasty fruitiness comes to the front with cherry and berry being the most obvious. Dark caramelly finish. Pretty tasty brew. I definitely wouldn’t call it a tripel... more of a dark strong ale, but I think it is very underrated.
