Golden, mostly clear body with unstable off white head. Banana aroma with white bread, white cream and coriander. It?s this really supposed to be like this? I doubt it. Light bitter. Way too heavy carbonation, killing most taste. A sourish, creamy sweetness shines through. Certainly not right, this bottle, which is disturbing from a brewer like this. Rancid butter. Yuck. Blonde cuivrée. Assez caramélisée, plutôt épicée, légèrement sucrée et fruitée sur le retour.

Clear golden colour with white head. Aroma is very faint, some hops in it. Taste is spicy, malt, some sweetness. Not very well balanced. Not a keeper...

Aroma not really there, little bit of malt and sweet syrup. Appearance is hazy gold brown amber. Taste not really a lot going on there, sweet sweet sweet, maybe caramel with some imagination. Medium bodied. Overall too sweet for my taste, miss some bitter and freshness. One time beer.

Bottle and tap. (double rating ) BOTTLE: profumo dolce caramellato, un che di malto, ricorda uvetta e canditi. Schiuma bianca e persistente. Colore ambrato, carbonatazione medio/bassa, di poco corpo, e consitenza olosa. gusto intenso tipico un po’ di marsala, luppolo poco avvertibile, e invita alla beva. finale lungo e dolciastro. SPINA: è molto più carbonata. la schiuma ha poca persistenza ma i profumi sono simili, fforse qualche nota più dolce. Il gusto ricorda il salame di cioccolato. ha un che di liquoroso e un po’ di cacao dolce. All’abbazia l’ho abbinata ad una torta prodotta in loco coi cereali schiacciati dal mulino a legna. stavo per avere un orgasmo in bocca.

Je suis très satisfait de voir que Lefèbvre a pu combler le vide laissé par la Floreffe triple, en faisant une merveilleuse application de la vieille recette de la Bonne Espérance. D’abord un bon choix de malts et houblons. Ensuite brassage par infusion, filtration lente du moût et houblonnage à cru sont les trois mamelles de la réussite... de cette belle recette. Et refermentation en bouteille bien entendu, pour avoir une vraie bière d’abbaye reconnue. Coloris blond cuivré selon le bon vouloir des abbés... Clarté nette. Bulles faibles malgré un exemplaire jeune (date limite en mai 2014). Mousse blanche qui tombe assez vite mais nappe à 1mm constamment. Odeurs de houblons, épices, malts et levure (quoi de mieux?). Volume quasi soyeux. 1ère bouche en très belle prise sur les épices, avec un fond malté très aéré. 2ème avec toujours l’épice en avant, mais à l’équilibre tout de suite après. 3ème bouche où tout est lié, mais restant frais comme toute vraie blonde. On peut d’ailleurs la placer en lisière des triples. Ce qu’elle ne revendique pas, et soyons-lui reconnaissant de ce fait. Là où beaucoup d’autres mettent en avant le terme de triple, ici on a laissé le simple terme de blonde en place, en accordant ainsi au dégustateur le droit à l’appréciation et au classement ... Certes 7,8 % abv est un peu juste pour cela, mais c’est de toute façon 3/10èmes au-dessus de la Floreffe qui se dit triple... La longueur est assez belle, et viendra elle plaider en cette faveur. La levure est superbe, déjà dans son verre propre, puis en bouche : lisse, fine, veloutée, et tout à fait adéquate à une triple. La finale ne dépareille aucunement, livrant son exécutant à la dégustation pure. Très grande abbaye, par ses bâtiments et par sa bière. Lefèbvre sauve ainsi la Floreffe triple par la Bonne Espérance, au nom prédestiné...., et de toute façon aussi de l’ordre des Prémontrés, donc pas de jaloux (qui n’est bien entendu pas une attitude catholique) . Personnellement nous ajouterons à la modestie de cette bière blonde, et avec grand plaisir, le qualificatif de triple, et une note frôlant le paradis...

75 cl bottle, 5.90€. Hazy orange, white head, lacing, fizzy look. On the nose is fruity, flowery, somewhat sharp. Aroma is candy fruit and sweet malts. Apricot, apple, a hint of citrus white grapes, a bit winey, yeast, sensible alcohol. Taste is sweet and sour, finish is dry. High carbonation, fizzy, full bodied. Boozy one however.

33cl Bottle at De Wiering, Leuven. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of light butter, alcohol, green banana. Flavour of butter, sweet, toffee, fruity, alcohol, buttery and light bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Didn’t really like this.

one of those beers i’ve always had, never drank cause of the expectations of this and other beers ( i tend to always take the things i realy wanna try and these are standing there forever) until 77 ships saved it from existence yesterday. we splitted the bottle after a year in my fridge, but it has been expired for 2 years ( so i baught it expired...) wich makes it like 4 years old..and well, this is not a beer to age ! purs hazy , blonde orange, witch much and filthy sediment. smells very boozy, sweet with a hint of discusting... its like a 90-year old virgin who died in her bed and had been ’ aging’ there for several weeks. you get my drift, i dont even wanna taste it.. yet i still do, cause i guess i’m that insane. nothing realy in the taste.. but than comes the aftertaste.. my god, its like i just consumed that halfway-rotten old lady ! what i waste of time and alcohol tollerance is this ! DRAINPOUR the reason i did give it 1 and not 0,5 (the lowest) is cause this WAS expired. i also will re-rate when i ever have the courage drinking a ’fresh’ one ( hope it wont taste like amputated foetuses than )
