3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - AUG 9, 2007
Blond color. Dry Ale, with a spicy aroma (cloves and coriander), a touch of dry liquorice (rare in Blonds) and a strong bitterness. Drinkable.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 diabel (1537) - Aarschot, BELGIUM - JUL 2, 2007
Bottle at Beer Brothers’ Festival 2007, Mechelen, Belgium Hazy, blond body. White, fizzy head. Ok lace. Very fresh aroma (like some kind of cleaning product) of citrus, orange. Quite complex and interesting nose. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour. Quite yeasty flavour. In total, I don’t really like it that much as I did like the aroma.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JorisPPattyn (6710) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - JUL 2, 2007
Well-carbonated, yellow-gold beer with a slight haze; good, dense, snowwhite head. Leafy, spruceneedles aroma, juniper - not the berries, rather the branches - VERY good. More juniper branch - with a serious toasted bread flavour. Ends even on a sweet brioche note, without any cloying, thanks to the spruce-like flavours. Ends earthy. Medium bodied at best. Refreshing despite the ABV. Very (positively) surprising beer from Meynsbrughen. I’d like to see more of these.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Jerre (2165) - Waregem, BELGIUM - JUN 24, 2007
Bottle, 33 cl. Clear yellow color, dense white head. Aroma sweety, fruity, yeasts. Medium body. Taste is drinkable, and really good. It’s like it have more alcohol than 6,5 %, little honey-sweet, dry end.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 sayravai (4548) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 13, 2007
(Bottled) Slightly hazy yellow-golden with a large, fluffy and lacy head with the yeast floating on top! Sweetish, grainy, honeyish, slightly alcoholic, somewhat Duvel-like aroma with saisony yeastiness. Slightly acidic, sweetish, honey-malty flavor with a tiny alcohol hint. Medium-bodied palate with smooth carbonation. A quite plain but ok, Duvel-Augustijnish blonde.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 madsberg (7522) - Søborg, DENMARK - MAR 7, 2007
