| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 4, 2007 Looked pretty good, with a mass of foam on top that lasted quite a while. Aroma of pizza dough and bubblegum initially, but on tasting it was all just sweet sugars and maybe a little buttery. Flavour was quite sweet, although strangely dry at the same time, particularly in the finish. A little over carbonated, and not quite coping with the alcohol IMHO. highlandlad (1258), Sydney, Australia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 28, 2007 Above-average Belgian blonde ale. A lovely-looking beer with one of those heads that pays so little heed to a man’s thirst that you end up snouting through foam for a taste of the good stuff. Lots of sticky sugars in a generally sweet aroma. Bubblegum, violets, Belgian yeast, bath grout. Spritzy mouthfeel, which is a minor negative IMO. Medium bodied. Sour-sweet flavour mix. Lemon soothers, evident alcohol, bubblegum. Nice spicy clove finish. Quite "hot" for a beer of just 6.5% abv. Refreshing in a deceptive drink-four-wake-up-at-midday sort of way. (33cl bottle from Liquor on Parade. BB 5/7/09)
