3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 weaselkenievil (1093) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 9, 2009
Bottle from Beers of Europe. Murky gold with a good white head. Sweet lightly spiced aroma. Light bodied, light malts, touch of grass, fresh with a nice bitterness. Good blond.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JanLaursen (1075) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 9, 2011
Golden, hazy beer with a weak but long living white foam. Ripe banana and a little harsh cloves in the nose. They are reflected in the mouth with a good bitter mouth feel.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 suprchunk (1057) - Heinsberg, GERMANY - FEB 26, 2011
Cloudy white pour with a decent head that kind of sticks around, but not for long.
Smells like any type of Wit I’ve had in the past. Nothing spectacular stands out. A little clovey-ish, a little banana-ish. But barely.
Hoegaareden. Did they steal the recipe? I thought my wife poured me the Hoe at first, but looked at the label and realized it’s something I’ve never tried before, or have I?
Light and dry. Carbonation is a bit high leaving it feeling more dry than it might be. Little bit of an aspirin aftertaste.
Not too bad, but there are other things I would rather spend my time drinking.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Quinten (1030) - zaandam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 30, 2009
At vonk slijterij zaandam, bottle 330ml (100ml left after i did open the bottle) light golden, huge eXXXploding carbonation head, maybe i had to be more carefull with the bottle,...nice grainy and some fruits like grapefruits, some caramel and spices, nice one.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Davros (1014) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - OCT 6, 2011
Pours amber with a large, lasting head.
Nose shows honey, lemon, floral hops, doughy yeast and soft phenols. The honey is incredibly strong.
Same story with the flavours: loads of honey, with doughy yeast and soft spicy hops underneath. The finish seems a bit metallic. Too sweet.
Carbonation is much too high.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 tomer (971) - Rishon Le Zion, ISRAEL - FEB 24, 2011
At a tasting, thanks Dror, hazy lemon yellow colour, aroma of honey, peach and lightly toasted bread, yeasty flavour with notes of honey, too sweet and thick.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 maupie (908) - Roosendaal, NETHERLANDS - AUG 22, 2009
After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity not wall adhesive white foam collar which was fine and evenly of structure. The beer also contained much carbonic acid in the glass.
The beer has a thick blond color and a sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is light hoppy with a fruity touch. This beer smells fruity.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Muggus69 (878) - Newcastle, NSW, AUSTRALIA - MAY 22, 2008
330ml bottle, served chilled. Hazy golden body, big white head. Fruity aroma, apples and pears, citrus and peach, some pepper and clove with cereal maltiness. Moderate carbonation, slightly prickly, body verging on being quite rich and cloying. Sweet maltiness with clove and pepper, some stonefruitiness in there, finishes dry. Pretty nice, probably a bit below par with most Belgian blonds though.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Slayer85 (872) - Firenze, ITALY - JUN 7, 2010
Bottle. A hazy medium yellow beer with a huge, frothy/fizzy, lacing, mostly lasting white head. The aroma is lightly to moderately malty, lightky to moderately hoppy, lightly yeasty, with notes of bread, citric fruits, flowers, a hint of banana and spices. The flavour is moderately sweet, lightly sour, lightly bitter. Medium body, lively carbonation, long finish with medium bitterness. No thrill, but a balanced and well brewed Belgian ale.
