Lagery and lacy. Appealingly fruity Belgian snout initially suggesting apple, peach, orange…then the grassy/almondy Special Brew fumes kick in. Grass, rubber and marzipan in the mouth. FAR too much alcohol and little else to back it up at 6.3%. Nasty alcohol bitterness to finish, a lick of stale papery malt. Seriously unimpressive.

Bottled. Clear deep golden. Papery and somewhat resiny. Sweet with clean mouthfel and medium body. Syrupy and a bit mushy, unstructured and messy. Notes of pineapple and grass.

A hazy golden ale with a thick creamy white head and big chunks. Lightly banana malt aroma. In mouth, a decent spiced malt, with light orange notes, noted hops, refreshing, medium bodied. Bieropholie import. 23-08-2006.
