This is another great offering from this French brewery. Not too complex, but it does the job right. Pours blonde.
Aroma is fruity, hoppy and earthly.
Taste is fruity, perhaps some figues that became more present as the beer warmed up to room temperature. Sweet malt, lightly spicy.
rkuhnel (1096), Eureka, California, USA Aug 27, 2008 Here is another one that is overpriced at $9.95 and under-delivers. From the 750 ml C&C Bottle, this poured a rich gold with big white head and lots of lacing. Nose of caramel malts and odd smelling floral or fruit hops. Medium mouthfeel. Sweet flavor and a dry finish. heemer77 (3647), Savannah, Missouri, USA Aug 21, 2008 From a 750ml bottle. A large light khaki tinted off white head tops a dark amber body. This leaves a very thick lacing on the side of the glass. The aroma is largely funky with some hay and hints of horse blanket. There is also some wood and apple notes. The taste is very sweet with caramel and apples. This finishes a little dry with some hints of cinnamon. A nice sipper. WeeHeavySD (1711), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Aug 12, 2008 750ml from Whole Foods Portland. Pours dark yellow with a bright white ring. Sweet and dry and yeasty nose. Taste is light and dry and ok, its kinda prickly. Can’t tell how I feel about this. dwyerpg (2042), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Aug 7, 2008 A little earth to the aroma. This is also quite nice. A bit of coating to it, dryness in the finish and sweet up front. gunhaver (610), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 5, 2008 Bottle, courtesy Tony at Oldsmar Tap House. Pours a golden copper color, with a thin frothy head, lots of thick white lacing. Aroma is fairly hoppy, with a nice smooth caramel counterbalance. Some dry yeast, clove. Sweet flavor, nice fruit presence, earthy yeast, some dry fruit, grape, apricot. Bright, refreshing, alcohol is hidden well. Drinks like a small farm ale.
