2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Muggus69 (878) - Newcastle, NSW, AUSTRALIA - JUN 23, 2010
750ml corked bottle, from Paris.
Now here’s a beer with good potential; corked 750ml bottle, abbey name, solid abv that puts it into the realm of a Beligan blond or Biere de Garde.
Instead, i’m presented with what i’d expect from a beer of 1.29 Euro from a discount French supermarket; rough, overly boozy yet thin, sweet. Very disappointing!

Bought as "Abbaye de Mont St. Jean" in Paris. Okay aroma, a little syrupy but not excessively so. Average appearance. Nice flavour, lighter malts and caramel, some citrus notes at the end. Not as heavy as some other abbey beers and I like that.
