Bottle (from the november 2005 RB-tasting at Dixens place - notes have been damaged by flooding of my basement, but this was such an insane tasting for me as I was new to such massive tastings, so I gave up on the detailed notes quite early). Acidic in a not so pleasant way. Vague flavour, slightly acidic. All I could read...

Shared bottle, thanks to Sigmund. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, malts and yeast. Taste is more malt oriented, grainy with a nice spiced hop addition, good dry end.

750 ml corked bottle, as Abbaye de Vaucelles Bière Blonde Artisanale, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. Front label says 7.5% ABV, rear label says 7% ABV. Golden colour, pours rather fizzy, large to moderate white head. Moderate aroma of malts, hints of spices. The flavour is fairly malty with a moderate spiciness, which saves the beer from being really boring - but the hops are too moderate.

Clear gold beer. Wheaty malt, smooth and a little creamy. The beer near stands for a few minutes to let off some unpleasant and pronounced soapiness! A subtle touch of peach near the finish, otherwise it is all wheaty malt. Odd.

Bottle. Thanks for the gift Faroeviking. Golden body with a medium white head. The aroma is fruity, light spicy, chlorine and caramel. The flavour is hay, light peppery, light fishy and fruity. Bit weird.

I am never sure about the pedigree of Choulette beers, though unlike some they have not fully cowtailed to the tatste of the gray mass. 6 months beyond the sell by date this copper-blond ale from a 75cl shouldered bottle had intact body and some presence, though some of the gunkiness implied below (from ageing) and no great individual character.
