Commercial Description:
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

Cloudy golden with a disappearing bubbly white head. Fruity aroma, pineapple and other tropical fruits, plus some yeast and a touch of spice. Rather dry, yeasty flavour with a fruity sweetness - reminds me more of a blonde than a wit.

[1078-20080201] 1pt9.4floz (w/ blankboy, GregClow, jerc, mds). Aroma of tangy mango and tart pineapple also throws in notes of ground beef and sourdough pizza. Hazy, orange light brown body with a quick foamy white head. Tangy yeast flavour hints at a selection of tropical fruits. Medium body is a little bitter. Interesting blend.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is a nice mix of vanilla and citrus with a little allspice thrown in there. Flavor is very lemony with some pepper and yeast. Goes down with a little bitterness on the tounge. It gets the job done in the wit department.

murky tan, full of sludge (I got the last 1/3 of the bottle) with a sticky looking head. only light dust on the nose. When swirled, the beer sloshes under protest and quickly settles. Light fluffy mouthfeel, like cotton candy. still dust, yeast is soft and remains well after the swallow.

Bottle shared with jerc, mabel, GregClow & mds -- courtesy of mabel. Pours a murky golden-orange with an average size diminishing white head. Aroma’s yeasty and sweet with light spices and fruit -- quite nice! Delicious, slightly sweet flavour of yeast, citrus, wheat & spices. Average to medium bodied. A wonderful and pleasant Witbier!

Pours a hazy golden brown color with a large fluffy white head. Aroma is light and lemony and yeasty. Flavor is more or less the same... a very good beer though. 1 pt. 9.4 oz. bottle.

2008-02-01. Bottle. Hazy golden yellow body with a modest white head. Lightly yeasty whear aroma is sweet with tart wheat accents. (7+) Sweetish flavour with a wheaty character overall. Smooth average to medium palate. Alcohol is all but invisible. Simple yet effective this is a very solid wheat beer. I am surprised too that it hides the alcohol so well since other wheat beers I have tried that were on the strong side tend to show it less elegantly. Rather nice.
