stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 10, 2006 pours hazy orange-gold with a verlarge fluffy white head, aroma of citrus, belgian spices, bananas. Flavor is smooth, clean, carbonated, pine hops are present, good-fair body, good brew. Bart (1625), Vosselaar, Belgium Feb 3, 2006 At Kulminator, vintage 2003, so its is three years over time, vor a white bear... Light amber coloured, average white head. Rather old aroma, some citrus left. Medium body, Finish is citrus, fruityness. I was surprised by the well preserved beer. Still very enjoyable. Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England Jan 10, 2006 Got this with the glass, to find the glass isnt actually that good, anyway... Aroma is very wheaty indeed, maybe a slight touch of corn which put me off slightly. Taste is similar however maybe a bit sweet for a wit beer and didnt make it as refreshing as i wanted, maybe disapointed but nothign worth crying about. mabjork (580), Vasa, Finland Jan 3, 2006 Bottled. Hazy light brown with a rich white head. A fruity and fresh aroma. It has a flavour consisting of fruits. oh6gdx (8802), Vasa, Finland Dec 31, 2005 Bottled. Hazy nut brown, big white creamy head. Aroma of citric fruit and wheat. Flavour of yeast, fruit and wheat. Very wellbalanced, not too sweet. Carbonation pleasant, and a bit biting. Nuffield (2718), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Dec 27, 2005 Hazy orange/yellow with irregular head. More citrus and freshness in the flavor than the aroma, which had clove, orange peel, lemon. Frothy palate. Something a little dull to it but it has a good range of flavors. Lubiere (4464), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Dec 10, 2005 Golden ale with a thick white head. Pleasant aroma of wheat and apples, with butterscotch notes. Lightly sweet with strong coriander notes and sharp metallic hops with an iron-like finish. Rather rich and strong for a Blanche! Bought at Delhaize, Brussels. Tasted May 2005. Silphium (2114), Haslett, Michigan, USA Dec 5, 2005 That this is not the typical witbier was apparent on the first pour- the light orange body is hardly "white," and the tart aroma, with its apple cider, pears, spice, and plastics is also atypical. Yeasty body with the same plastics (not pleasant, but probably natural) in addition to sweet apple juice, pear, and musty hay. This bottle is certainly old (it features an older label and is corked), but it is lively and effervescent. With each sip, the impression of an alcoholic cider becomes stronger and stronger, and the plastics become subdued. The best thing about this beer is its initial perfumey, fruity aroma, which makes this brewery’s yeast among the most interesting on the planet. I’m not as enthusiastic about the flavor, but it’s decent if not great. Worth a look.
