Commercial Description:
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

Bottle (33 cl) from Systembolaget. Shady golden, large creamy white head. Fruity orange aroma, with bready yeasty notes, and earthy hops. Some mild pepper spiciness is also there. High carbonation. Fairly dry, low bitterness.

Bottle. Look: Super hazy orange body with a white head. Smell: Spices, honey. Typical wit smell. Taste: Big spicy taste. Belgian yeast. Short taste. Overall: Medium bodied. Fairly good, but boring.

Bottle from Bierkoning. Murky orange body with milky head. Nose of chocolate and fruits. Quite a punch for a witbier with serious chocolate notes. Also citrus and pineapple in the mix. Refreshing and creamy. Gets a bit yeasty and spicier towards the end. Nice, as always, from this brewer.

Bottle at Take One, Maastricht. Orangey hazy with a thick off-white head. Nose is lemony, yeasty. Some hints of coriander and black pepper. Mouth is quite sweet and cloying at points, but with a robust swallow of citrusy sweetness, which lasts well. Finishes smooth. Good.

0.75 l bottle from beershop.hr. It poured a murky orange, brownish toned body with huge head. Lot of yeast particles, even in part poured from bottle’s top. Interesting aroma, not particularly strong or typical cloying, rather hoppy, herbal, salty, possible some american hops, with quite strange malt background. Orange or citrus fruity flavor with some malts besides. Some honey, even caramel here. Pretty full bodied, with long, bitterish and slightly sweetly cloying finish. Very nice wit and definitely different.
