Commercial Description:
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

A yellow appearance with a large white head. The aroma was musky and citrusy. The flavor had a lot of lemons. grapefruit, and hay. A little bit of funkiness exists in the aftertaste. This was a very good one

Light gold hue, like the yellow of a peach. Lots of sediment. White, frothy head. Tangerines, lemon, honey, and grape fruit juice aromas. Smell is a bit tame though. Moderately sweet, lightly acidic flavor becomes a lightly sweet, lightly acidic finish. Medium body, silky texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: refreshing, sweet, tangy...but a little underpowered...

Cloudy yellow, with thin white head. Lots of floaties, too. Spicey, citrusy, coriander aromas. Big citrus flavors up front, orange and lime, plus apples and pear, as well, slightly herbal (woodruff?) finish. Really enjoyable.

Sampled at the 6/2005 ‘Nooga gathering. Poured a white onion peal with hazy orangish hints. Suspended particles in there. The aroma was very light but noted wheatish like grain and citrus. The flavor was very nice and refreshing. Light fruit (peach, pear, lemons) and wheat and yeast. The body was light and frothy…creamy. Very good.

75cl bottle...one glass poured fairly clean, the second was full of proteins floating around...impressize head, white and puffy, one a golden hazy beer...incredible fruity aroma, very typical of the ADR beers...and very enjoyable. Drinks with a good body, and some sweetness...very fruity beer and actually quite yummy to me...it was a great change of pace after drinking 4 different gueuze beers.
