Commercial Description:
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

Bottled. Citrus aroma. Golden color, clear! (strange for a white), good lace. Sweet, light bitter, grapefruit, soft yet sparkling. Very drinkable beer.

Long arrière goût. Palette: Corps moyen avec une texture mince. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Amertume en arrière goût. (Rating #136)

Slighly yeasty smell, with a bit of something acidic I can’t quite place. It pours a few shades away from clear. This is a well carbonated, hoppy and yeasty beer.

Bottle. Copper colored with small bigbubbled head. Loads of floaties in the glass.Absolutely wonderful perfumy sweet, aroma. The flavor is close to peach, flowery and - again - some perfume. It ends with a bit harsch yeast bitterness Big mouthfeel and smooth bubbles.

Pours with a pillowing white head of great lasting power. Cristal clear golden orange color for the first pour. Subtle aroma of citrus fruits. Light on the palate with lemon and orange citrus notes with a dry finish.

Yellow-brown, with some orange. Definately a lighter beer, but with a little more brown that is normal for the style. Head is a nice white foam, that has lasting power. Smells of spices, glazed donuts, cherries, pine and pit fruit. Taste is sour cherries, pineapple, dusty basement/clove spice, cedar, lemon and they are not lying about the peppery background. Aftertaste a little drying, carbonated and alcohol
