(Rating #136) nicholai (101), Helsinki, Finland May 2, 2005 Slighly yeasty smell, with a bit of something acidic I can’t quite place. It pours a few shades away from clear. This is a well carbonated, hoppy and yeasty beer. ChristianSA (368), Copenhagen, Denmark Mar 18, 2005 Bottle. Copper colored with small bigbubbled head. Loads of floaties in the glass.Absolutely wonderful perfumy sweet, aroma. The flavor is close to peach, flowery and - again - some perfume. It ends with a bit harsch yeast bitterness Big mouthfeel and smooth bubbles. mball581 (20), Maineville, Ohio, USA Mar 11, 2005 Pours with a pillowing white head of great lasting power. Cristal clear golden orange color for the first pour. Subtle aroma of citrus fruits. Light on the palate with lemon and orange citrus notes with a dry finish. JonR888710 (999), Cochabamba, Bolivia Feb 16, 2005 Yellow-brown, with some orange. Definately a lighter beer, but with a little more brown that is normal for the style. Head is a nice white foam, that has lasting power. Smells of spices, glazed donuts, cherries, pine and pit fruit. Taste is sour cherries, pineapple, dusty basement/clove spice, cedar, lemon and they are not lying about the peppery background. Aftertaste a little drying, carbonated and alcohol tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Feb 8, 2005 Dried dark fruits and chocolate with herbal, orange-citrus hops. Opaque amber-brown with fizzy tan head that recedes to ring. Plenty of sediment regardless of how carefully you decant the bottle. Cookie dough, chocolate, tobacco leaf, pear, peach, plum, orange and banana notes in the very complex, fruity flavour with a sharp, crisp bitterness and lingering peppery spiciness in the mouth after a very dry finish. Medium-light body with moderate to strong carbonation that pricks the tongue and a soft, smooth texture. A very interesting, if non-traditional take on the style. Bottle (trade Aug. 2004). Thanks, JoeMcPhee!
