BeanDip (107), Florida, USA Dec 11, 2004 Beautifully clear and golden with a huge fluffy, white head. Nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is flowery and spicy. Yeasty. Taste is very nice and light without being wimpy - touch of citrus and floral spice. Texture is lovely and creamy with some depth. Very nice. matta (1137), Tampa, Florida, USA Dec 1, 2004 Shared a 750 last night with 2 other guys at WOB.
Poured a hazy golden blond body with an enormous white rocky head. The aroma, though it was light, brought up notes of a delicate doughy yeastiness, light clove and coriander. I would have to say the flavor basically backed up the nose, as being light and very drinkable. There was a fragile little note of orange and lemon there in the finish, and the palate was a smooth buttery biscuit! This is a Pretty nice brew, Not too exciting yet good, but I’m glad I didn’t buy an entire 750 for myself! 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Nov 16, 2004 Bottle pours a very pale yellow, cloudy, huge rocky white head that leaves behind a web of lacing, with lively carbonation. Dry aroma of citrus, spices, and flora. Smells rather sweet as well. Not as sweet on the tongue, but soft spices and citrus are quite nice. Perhaps semi-sweet could describe this one quite well. Good body and mouthfeel. Finishes somewhat quick, but quite clean. Not as spiced as others, but I still think its quite respectable.
imdownthepub (5093), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Nov 1, 2004 Bottled at The Kulminator, Antwerpen. Light hazy golden beer with bubbly head. Yeasty and coriander notes with a light lemony background. Taty and refreshing although understated. Aldrighetti (162), Coltura, Italy Oct 17, 2004 Tutored tasting with Italian beer expert Lorenzo "Kuaska" Dabove.
Golden, light hazy, sparkling body; with a large, creamy, white head.
Spicy aroma, citrussy (lemon), tropical fruit, light honey aroma.
Flavor of honey too, light herbal taste joined with the spicy charachter.
Medium body, fuller than "average" blanche. mutant (854), Melbourne, Australia Oct 10, 2004 Circulating yeast chunks in gold liquid under a huge foaming head. Light corriander aroma. Flavour is too light, slightly citrusy but not much. Watery, I didn’t like it at all. Cobra (1060), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA Sep 25, 2004 330 cl brown, longneck bottle. No freshness date seen anywhere.
Why don’t they date these beers, so we know if we’re getting a fresh one or not? Is there that much involved in doing so?
Anyway, it poured out a medium horsepiss color, with a fast fading white head. It did leave a minimal covering of lacing on top of the beer, however. Aromas are of lactic wheat malts, slight Brettanomyces character as well. Tastes are definitely of Brettanomyces cultures, along with a sour note as well. No hops in aromas or flavors. Medium mouthfeel, nothing special there.
Drinkability is ok, but the sourness would limit me to two of these, maximum. Decent, drinkable, but nothing to write home about. igel (196), New Mexico, USA Sep 10, 2004 A transparent golden/orange color with a light fine carbonation (and a few bits and pieces rolling around). The white head diminishes rather quickly, but leaves a fine layer and a light bubbly, sticky lace. Aroma is tart and spicy (coriander), with malty notes. Palate is medium bodied, effervescent and pleasingly tart. The flavor is a well-balanced combination of sweetness, a citrus tartness and a light hop finish. This brewski/amalgamation is not glaringly complex or provocative, yet its characteristics exemplify a harmony of subtle flavors I have not noticed in any other beer of this style.
