Commercial Description:
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

At KBW in Vichte (B). A hazy pale yellow colored beer. It has foamy white head. The aroma is a little sour, with fruity sweet in it. Also some spice. The taste is little sour and sweet too. Fresh orange like sweet, with a little spices in the back. The beer has a long bitter aftertaste. A different kind a witbeer.

Nice belgian white. The pour was a filled with sediment and was an orange gold color. The aroma was orange peel and other fruits along with some wheat. The flavor was yeasty, with a tingle to it. Nice one indeed.

750ml bottle @ Stateline. As far as wits go, this is the big man on campus.. It really stands among the dime a dozen wits. Right off the bat this is apparent. Pour is deep hued gold/amber, tons of lace work, and has so many large floaters - very typically of l’Abbaye des Rocs. Aroma is light citrus, yeast, and alcohol. Flavor is suprisingly light for the brewery, but for the style execellent. Yeast and mild citrus’ and spices are the main focus... finish has some alcohol but remains pleasant. In all, great Wit but I think this brewery could go even bigger. 3.85

Bottle. Pours great hazy orange body with small white head - lots of stuff floating around. Aroma is light - orange. The taste is pretty simple, smooth, but great. Some alcohol in the finish.

Bottle. Copper tinged gold color with a decent white head. Aromas of light fruit, citrus peel and mild spice. Medium body with prickly, but creamy, carbonation. Flavor is mild citrus sour with lighter stone fruits. Slightly peppery spice. Finishes pretty dry. Near astringent. Good ale.
