Commercial Description:
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

Bottle. Copper tinged gold color with a decent white head. Aromas of light fruit, citrus peel and mild spice. Medium body with prickly, but creamy, carbonation. Flavor is mild citrus sour with lighter stone fruits. Slightly peppery spice. Finishes pretty dry. Near astringent. Good ale.

Pour was very clear light golden with some sediment in suspension. Aroma is strong of fermented fruit, light orange, light spice, and wheat. Palate is very smooth. Flavor is of wheat, light fruit, and a lot of belgian spice. Very smooth beer. Not as dry as I thought it would be. Would buy again.

Bottle, thx to Ole_R. It pours an unclear, golden body with a small, off-white head. Spices, pale malt and wheat in the aroma, with lemon in the background. Spices, pale malt, some sugar and a nice bitterness in the flavor. Medium body. Long finish with spices and fruityness, as well as some bitterness. A nice witbier. (080410)

330 ml bottle. White, fully lasting head. Foggy orangey-golden body. Soft spicy wheat aroma, sweet fruity notes. Yeasty and spicy flavor, sweet malty with a note of sweet oranges. Filling. Ends up dry and fruity. I really like this one.

330ml bottle. Cloudy orange body with a huge creamy white head. Aroma is sweetish spicy and fruity with yeast. Flavor is fruity, yeasty with a sweet malt profile. Good balanced with a hint of alcohol and a long finish. As always a nice and sweet brew from the Rocks.

Pours with a rocky, white head and a hazy gold body. Concorde grapes, clove and mary jay in the aroma. Oaky and spicey taste, lively mouthfeel.
