COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

Bottle from de Bierschuur in Poppel. The beer has a blonde color and a large white head, with a lot of bubbles. The aroma is fruity, with tones of citrus and a lot of herbs are also noticable, like coriander and pepper. A little spring blossom is also recognizable. The taste starts a little dry and bitter to end in a spicy and refreshing end. A nice blanche, not comparable to the others. I liked it.

Pretty good stuff with soft spice and citrus and rounded sweet fruit (baked apple, pear.) I kept the bottle in the cellar so it’s clear and dark amber with minimal head. Has developed some interesting wax candy flavors.

330ml bottle from St. Veronus. Deep brown/orange body with a thick frothy head. Yeast character is present with some coriander on the aroma. The bottle says Ginger is used in the process, but I can’t find it in the tasting. Medium bodied with a nice smooth lingering finish.

Bottle from Humulus et Fermentum, Heisdorf, Lux. Pours bright amber with a big white head - as one would expect from the description. Medium high carb, Lots of wit character and fruit to the aroma, herbs and cream soda. Medium mouthfeel, lots of fizz. Herbal coriander flavour, with some orange, lemon, and classic wit yeast character. Very drinkable for all that too.

Erg lekker witbier. Heeft een volle romige schuimkraag. Ruikt licht naar sinasappels en bitter. Volle smaak.
