Ungstrup (11075), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 14, 2003 A clear orange beer with a beutiful cream colored head. The aroma is dominated by sweet fruit with coriander notes. The flavor is prickling fresh in the beginning, then it conains notes of oranges, yeast, and coriander on a nice sweet background. It ends on a prickling (alcohol?) slight bitter note combined with a wheaty dryness. A lovely wit. I'm definately coming back for this. omhper (10437), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 12, 2007 Bottled at Belgobaren, Stockholm. With it’s cloudy golden colour and, small airy head it doesn’t look very appetizing, but looks can deceive. There’s a powerful orange peel aroma. It’s sweet with solid, rounded mouthfeel and evident notes of coriander and seville orange. It’s full flavoured, and though rather sweet it steers well clear of becoming sticky, offering a combination of the drinkability and refreshment of a witbier and the complexity and flavour depth of a strong Belgian golden ale. Finsishes soothing almost completely without biterness. Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 20, 2005 (Bottle 75 cl) A very unusual Biere Blanche. Darker, stronger, weirder. Dark golden with a nice, creamy head. Very complex spiced pattern - appart from the usual orange peel and coriander also juniper is used. Some citric bite and a unusual (for it’s type) bitter finish. Not quite as quenching as lighter Belgian Wits, but very original and different wheat beer, but probably not what most would consider a Biere Blanche. 170198 Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 16, 2001 Strong, unspiced witbier, which emerges yeastier, maltier, and drier than most. joergen (6256), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 19, 2007 Draught.
Hazy amber coloured with a white head.
Fruity aroma of bread, citrus and wheat.
Flavour of fruits, wheat and citrus with notes of hops.
