Commercial Description:
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

Very murky, peach-colored ale with a large, fizzy, white head. Good retention and decent lacing. The nose is of clove and orange peel. Tart, well-balanced flavor with big yeast. Lemony and light-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish.

Lightly clouded golden color with a blooming white head. Aroma is mellow and spiced with a touch of malt. Body is remarkably smooth and crisp with good balance of malty sweetness and coriander citrus spice. One of the better wits I've tried.

hazy amber-orange with yeast particules floating in, few foam, strong peachy and perfumy aroma, corny, tart and oily with a decent bitterness, the finish is dry, malty and fruity - complex and solid

This was pretty good, sweet spicy coriander flavour and smooth body, bit of banana, bit of citrus, pretty decent, and stronger than you normal wit.

Pale gold-yellow, greenish shine. Rather compact, white head, collapsing. Very citrussy nose - like mandarines with a sweetish underslung - Mandarine Napoléon. Subdued coriandre, bit of orange peel, peppery. Dry-orange taste, herbal and peppery, yet sweet base. Bitterish retronasal. Mouthfeel is dry with alcohol. Not overly refreshing. Spicey-herbal aftertaste - rhubarb? IMO, the best Belgian wit, maybe with the St. Bernardus. Actually this is more and better than 'B. Wit' - not really my style.

Bottled at The Kulminator, Antwerpen. Light hazy golden beer with bubbly head. Yeasty and coriander notes with a light lemony background. Taty and refreshing although understated.

very refreshing witbier, with pleasent aroma and flavor. What makes this beer special is, that it is not as sweet or spicy like other witbiers.

Bottled: Yellow colour. Very cloudy. Has a long lasting nice frothy head. Aroma is a little spicy and citrusy. Flavour is yeasty and a little crisp. Not much going on in the aftertaste. Very lightbodied. Decent wit.
