Commercial Description:
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

750ml CorkedCloudy, orange, golden with an enormous rocky snow white head that lasts forever. Yeasty aroma light funk and sour fruit, spices, real nice. Soft velvety mouthfeel. Flavor a bit thin, light fruit, yeast and faint hops. Overall a refreshing ale.

Bottle: Poured a hazy light copper beer with a huge foamy head with great retention. Incredible amount of yeast is comprised in this drink. Aroma is great with hint of sweet fruit (apricot? Orange?). Taste is also quite good with a refreshing sweet taste reminiscent of summer fruit (again apricot?) and a good mix between the malt and the yeast. Overall, a more complex wit then what I’m used to drink and, in my opinion, a underrated beer in this category.

Bottle pours a very pale yellow, cloudy, huge rocky white head that leaves behind a web of lacing, with lively carbonation.   Dry aroma of citrus, spices, and flora.   Smells rather sweet as well.   Not as sweet on the tongue, but soft spices and citrus are quite nice.   Perhaps semi-sweet could describe this one quite well.   Good body and mouthfeel.   Finishes somewhat quick, but quite clean.   Not as spiced as others, but I still think its quite respectable.

25.4 bottle, in hefe glass, golden orange color, big foamy head and lemony flavor, extra alcohol is a nice plus, more carbonation than most wheat, I really liked this one.

Dégusté avec french tickler le 11 avril 2007. Murky golden poor with lots of sediments. Creamy off-white head. Aromas of coriander, creme brule, caramel, apple puree, corn, lightly peppered and subtile notes of peaches. Extremely well balanced beer. I’ve never tasted a Witbier with so many flavors. A nice mixed explosion of spices and fruits. Perfect malts and yeasts as are most of the beers from this brewery. Very Satisfied!
