| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 22, 2006 Bottle rating. Dark gold pour. Live active carbonating bubbles; champagne like. Aromas of banana, bubblegum, belgian sugar, vanilla. A nice wheat flavor to start out, the finish ends dry. Slightly overcarbonated when cold, but the mouthfeel improves as this warms. Despite the flaws listed, this is pretty darn tasty for a witbier. after4ever (2859), Brier, Washington, USA

Pours deep hazy copper with a towering platinum blonde head of suds and mousse that falls to whipped-egg-white stalgmites but it takes a while. Rich funky green apples and cherries on the nose. No visible carb. Subdued attack; low-medium body, light carb, subtle flavors. Green apples and pears are there, and they carry through the mid-palate, along with some honey and a little bit of grass. This is a soft, lovely, refreshing wit. Great stuff. Starting to wonder whether I have a crush on Rocs or something. waolsen (1224), Littleton, Colorado, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jul 29, 2009 750ml bottle. Deep golden color. Aroma of attic and a monk’s froch. Nice wheat character, lots of grains. very hearty. Notes of lemon, fruit, oak, clove, and bready yeast. finishes with an orange peel flavor. Seems to be a bit stronger than most other Witbier. It really stands among the dime a dozen wits. Right off the bat this is apparent. Pour is deep hued gold/amber, tons of lace work, and has so many large floaters - very typically of l’Abbaye des Rocs. Aroma is light citrus, yeast, and alcohol. Flavor is suprisingly light for the brewery, but for the style execellent. Yeast and mild citrus’ and spices are the main focus... finish has some alcohol but remains pleasant. In all, great Wit but I think this brewery could go even bigger. 3.85 dkachur (2441), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Taste is bready caramel predominantly with some butterscotch, apple and dry citrus. Light spices in the finish along with muted hops. Smooth, assertively carbonated and medium bodied.
