COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blanche des Honnelles (1991) was originally very localised, and has since expanded beyond the boundries of the greater and lesser Honnelle rivers, from which it takes it's name. The Blanche des Honnelles leaves the beaten path somewhat. It has an amber colour which is after all the traditional appearance of the Blanches. It is also stronger (6%) than the Blanches that we know. Its taste is surprising and is not comparable to the brews with the same name that are now on the market. If the bouquet is subdued its first flavour is a stark dry sharpness against a pepper background. There is no acidity in this Blanche that is made with three cereals (barley, wheat, oats). It has a stimulating taste, leaving a subdued but refreshing final impression. Lots of character and curious.

Full disclosure, I’m drinking this on a Friday after a very hard week at work, so rubbing alcohol would rate pretty high right now. With that said, this is a really, really good beer, with a spicy, fruity, caramel/toffee flavor and a nice, dry finish. This is halfway between a white beer and a standard Belgian strong ale, and that’s a good thing.

Bottle. Hazy yellow with a medium sized with head with good retention and lace. Mild nose with flowers, dough, light perfume, candied lemon. Flavour has mould, wood, earth, chalk, herbs. Medium body, some sweetness, low bitterness, fine soft carbonation, mild acidity. Fairly sweet and earthy, strange wit.

Pours hazy pale amber with medium white head. Aromas of wheat malt, spices (clove, pepper) and citrus. Average carbonation, medium body. Long citrusy and spucy aftertaste. Quite nice wheat beer!

Blanche più corposa del solito. Aroma erbaceo, speziato, retrogusto lievemente amaro (liquirizia). Meno acquosa delle altre blanche, complesse sensazioni boccali.

Une blanche avec une structure plus prononcée qu’une blanche basique , couleur ambrée. Très bonne!

From 0,33l bottle, BBD: 05/11/2017 bought at Damian Bottle Shop, Bratislava. Pours dark golden to light amber liquid, medium frothy white head, fell down quite quickly, Aroma: wheat, clove, spicy - peppery, minor banana notes in the background, Taste: light to medium sweet, light bitter, light to medium sour, citrus, wheat, lemon, clove, spicy, white wine, Palate: medium body, average carbonation, slick mouthfeel, long lemony spicy aftertaste, Overall: No really my cup of tea. Quite light bodied in comparison with the real alcohol strength, spicy, sour, dusty feel.

Een enorm lekker en fruitige geur. En een mooie schruimkraag. De smaak is lekker fris met een toets van sinaas. Witbier is normaal niet men favoriet, maar dit is een goeike

Pours a pale copper colour with big white head which soon goes. Aroma of peanuts, yeast, spice. Taste is quite subdued, medium sweet and light but lightly bitter. Taste doesn’t linger. Might be more enjoyable on a warm summer’s day but not bad!

Yeasty wheat citrus lemon rind on the nose. Very carbonated. Light citrus, sweet breads, creamy malts. Finish isn’t bad but it’s quite abrupt. Was very excited at the idea of a "dubble wit", but it’s not especially different than an average wit. Less flavor. After the finish has some sweet creamy peach flavor. Not bad, but not the best wit either.

0.33l bottle, courtesy of Cristobal37. Slightly hazy golden body, huge white head that collapses quite quickly. Aroma of lemon zest, orange peel, yeast, grains and some spices. Taste of orange zest, honey and grains. OK beer.
