4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Full disclosure, I’m drinking this on a Friday after a very hard week at work, so rubbing alcohol would rate pretty high right now. With that said, this is a really, really good beer, with a spicy, fruity, caramel/toffee flavor and a nice, dry finish. This is halfway between a white beer and a standard Belgian strong ale, and that’s a good thing.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
33 cL bottle from the LCBO, served in a flute. Pours hazy golden with a tall, frothy off-white head that remains and laces well. On the nose, there are big notes of orange and citrus, along with grass, flowers, coriander and lightly toasted malts. The flavour is mildly sweet with malty notes, wheat and a touch of honey. The spice comes through in the middle and it becomes a bit drier towards the end, picking up hop notes and a bite from the ginger. The finish is long, malty and spicy with a decent grassy hop accent. On the palate it is medium in body with a milky texture and intense carbonation. Overall, a nice strong Belgian wheat ale with a distinct spiciness and nice hopping. 2013-06-19

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Fairly carbonated with a hazy and honey yellow colour. Yeasty and floral aromatic aroma with slightly pungent hoppy aroma. On the palate it is smooth with a lightly sweet note, lack acidity, and sports a ever so light peppery finish. Boozier than I expected but a good memorable brew considering the style.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bit of a conundrum. Both taste and aroma seemed to evolve after pour. It pours murky off- tangerine colour with little lacing and no head. Aroma starts with spices and cereal and seemed to develop zips of banana and citrus peel. Depth of aroma was enchanting although it is a little subdued.
Taste is layered with ample carbonation providing a soft feel. Cereal up front leaving spices, banana and tangy lemon peel in its wake. Much of this beer is nuanced which provides commendable depth. It doesn’t bash the front door down in order to get your attention, preferring instead to serenely glide in through the postbox.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from LCBO. Pour is rather heady initially, white and fluffy dies down to about half a finger, no lace. Light copper, some floaties. Nose is crisp, typically Belgian, more perfume as it warms. Tastes really malty, which I did not expect. A touch of citrus peal.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy, slightly dark wheat, with a good thumb full of head. Bags of aroma, dominated by dough and yeast with nice levels of pepper and traditional spices, slight orange peel at the end. Initially decadent creamy palate that finishes surprisingly thin. Fresh wheat, yeast and a little pinch of oats great the consumer, followed by hints of spice and little under ripe banana. Clean somewhat creamy finish, not overly sweet nor dry, with no tartness
