4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours deep dark amber with a brilliant medium beige head. Perfect retention. Great aroma, initially i get apricots, mangos, honey and candy (fairy floss?). After that theres all sorts, raisins, vanilla, citrus (orange?) and a *touch* of alcohol and chocolate. Smooth soft medium mouthfeel. My first few mouthfulls were just like the commercial description, chocolate, malty caramel and a hint of cherries. Its very well balanced, you can tell theres bitterness behind there but it doesnt really show up. As I got further into it i tasted some tropical fruit drink too, and a hint of yeasty spice in the aftertaste. ABV masked very well. Certainly interesting stuff.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aromas excelentes.

Godsdamn I used to drink the shit out of this amazing conception of Brune back in the Bottleworks days. One of the best.

A 33 cl bottle, pours a dark ruby with a beige head, aroma of chocolate and cherries. Taset is a little sweet and can taste a hint of cherry. Incredibly smooth with a well balanced palate considering the high alcohol content of 9%. Delicious and will be looking for more.

750 ml bottle Best Before 29/04/2012 poured into a brandy snifter. I wonder how old this beer really is. I can’t seem to find anything using the googles. Oh well. The aroma on this one has walnuts, wet wood, toasted nuts, some sherry notes. Fairly complex aroma. The taste is fairly nutty and woody. Not really bitter in any way, but id is fairly dry, like a walnut hull. Some raisin comes through a little bit and really just tops this beer off. Very well done beer. I wish I knew how their bottle dating worked. I would guess this beer is at least 2.5 to 3 years old, but could easily be even older. I guess that just means I should load up on this beer for the cellar.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma on this one was pretty faint. What I could detect was pleasing, but it didn’t exactly jump out if the glass. Great dark ruby colour with a beige, soda pop-like wispy head. Great Belgian beer flavour. Earthiness, licorice and some smokiness are present with underlying sweetness and dark fruits. The palate could be better as there is quite a large amount of sediment, despite my pouring efforts, that is detectable while drinking. With a stronger aroma and less sediment in the glass this would be a truly beautiful beer.
