Sully (1367), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia May 23, 2005 Another of those orangey beers. But with the name I have a great anticipation that this will be a very good beer. Well it is a good beer no doubt but with a lot of chunkies in the glass there is a problem with the palate and mouthfeel. Quite citrusy and a whiff of perfume this is OK but not a great member of an esteemed family. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 21, 2005 Updated: Jun 10, 2005(Bottle 33 cl) Orange-blond beer with a lot of sediments and no head to speak of. High carbonation. Very aromatic and quite dry - almost like a "Tripel" although there’s less alcohol here. Quite perfumed and "herbal", but it changes character when the sediments is in the glass. Special. 030304 ThomasE (5179), Copenhagen, Denmark May 17, 2005 Sparkling hazy pale orange beer with a white head. Yeasty aroma with hints of fruit and alcohol. Fresh fruity flavor with hints of yeast and a dry finish. FrkAabenhuus (147), Copenhagen, Denmark May 8, 2005 Golden colour with a small whhite head. Fressh, citric, fruity aroma. The flavor is yeasty, sweet, fruity and floral. A very fresh belgian ale with medium body. TBone (6675), Pori, Finland Apr 26, 2005 Bottled (BBE 2004)
Muddy orange color, small tight white head. Nose is spicey: orange peels and also spiritus fortus. Medium-bodied, soft. Malty with orange peels also in the flavor, slightly sour with metallic and leather flavors. Quite thin palate. Fruity in the finish, lightly bitter aftertaste. Like witbier without wheat. Quite a dissapointment, because Abbaye des Rocs usually means great brews. madsberg (4873), Søborg, Denmark Apr 8, 2005 Bottled: Orange coloured. Murky. White dense head. Citric, light spiced and fruity aroma. Flavour is spices and floral with some citric notes. Ends on a light sour note. Is quite refreshing, but i a bit average. Boutip (2334), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Mar 15, 2005 Bottle: Poured a light orange color ale with a nice foamy white head with standard retention. Aroma is a mix between yeast and malt with some subtle spices. Taste is quite enjoyable with again the yeast coming on top. Floral aspect of this beer is very enjoyable and body is medium. Overall, this is a good standard Belgian Ale. aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA Mar 5, 2005 light grass and wheat nose. somewhat white breadlike. lite touch of peppery zesty spice and citrus witha very light body.
