Kirill (264), Durham, North Carolina, USA Aug 2, 2007 wow this is fruity and spicy at its best... hops are there too and its very low carbonated allowing one to appreciate the taste fully Bullit (1300), Glasgow, Scotland Jul 29, 2007 Hazy amber colour, small white head, leaving a nice lace. Aroma is fruity (oranges) and spicy with alcohol tones. Taste of citrus, coriander. Yeast is prominent. Nice mouthfeeling. Ends slightly bitter. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA Jul 18, 2007 Hazy amber orange, moderate head with very good lacing and retention. Aroma is huge orange peel with yeasty funk, caramel, lesser notes of other fruits. Medium to full body, somewhat sweet, alcohol hidden well. Very enjoyable, first ’real’ Belgian I’ve had in a while. Doesn’t have the oomph for me to give it a 4/5 though. daniele (1640), Italy Jul 18, 2007 Updated: May 5, 2008bottiglia da 33 colore ambrato schiuma non abbondante mediamente profumata poco amara un giusto equilibrio ed un medio corpo piuttosto speziata un punta di etilico nella bottiglia da 75 Jerre (1755), Waregem, Belgium Jul 16, 2007 Bottle, 75 cl @ festival Hotton. This is not my first taste of this beer. Visit the brewery years ago. Amber color, white head. Aroma fruits, yeasts. malt. Medium to full body. Taste = alcoholic, hop bitterness, little sweet touch.
Yesterday this beer was a little to old.
But it stills good for me.
ToadMan (554), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jul 10, 2007 Pours a light amber color with an enormous white frothy head, lots of lace, tons of sediment suspended in the body. Aroma is moderately floral hops with a fair amount of yeast and light fruitiness. Moderately sweet and malty start gives way to some light fruitiness before finishing with a light/moderate bitterness lots of yeast and some spice. I like the combination of a nutty malt with yeast and fruit, but the spice detracts and keeps it from being really good. TheEpeeist (1429), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 8, 2007 25.4 oz bottle. Best before end of 2007. Clear amber with a fluffy white head. Lotsa lace; big bits in last glass. Tart citrus nose with hints of Band-Aid and wood. Up front, sudsy carb; body almost light. Yeasty carmelized lemon with ginger, stale cloves, nutmeg and apricot. Nor bad but off notes drag it down. Past its prime? OSLO (825), Perth, Australia Jul 7, 2007 [Bottle, thanks rickgordon!] Pours a cloudy amber, which upon closer inspection has many fairly large particles in it. Huge white/light tan head that diminishes fairly quickly. This beer was not the most complex, and did not have flavor that was overpowering, but that doesn’t matter, it is a great beer. The only major flaw I noticed was that the taste did not linger nearly long enough. I could drink this thing all day long though, I love it.
