Commercial Description:
This beer, robust in taste and strength (9%) is the tops for flavour. It has a fruity and spicy bouquet, it has a stark taste, between a sharp bitterness and a caramelised flavour. It has no sugar, and this pure malt beer oscillates between various tendencies which all round off the bitterness. It has a peppery taste at the back of the mouth and a sharpness on the tongue. It is active in the mouth and lets each flavour express itself individually. It is very active in the glass which gives it a full, lasting, head. It has a long conclusion and puts emphasis on an ever present bitterness but less supported by the caramel. The final impression is one of gingerbread without sugar.

(bottle, Thanks olso!) Poured a hazy orange with a large cream head, and the beer was full of particles. The aroma was mostly coriander, clove, and yeast. The taste was also similar to the aroma, with clove and coriander being the dominant flavors followed by a nice smooth finish with little to no bitterness.

330ml bottle (Mallaskukko, Turku) Lumpy bits spoil the orange colour. No real aroma. Tastes of muddy puddle. Some indestinguishable oddness. Finish is nicely malty, but not enough to save it.

Delicious aroma without standing out in any way. Fantastic orange colour with super head which unfortunately doesn’t lasts. Tons of sediment in the beer. Taste is superior, fruity and delicious, with lots of bitterness in the aftertaste. Quite a beer.

Bottle. Foamed up from the bottle as it was open. Huge light brown bubbly head that mostly lasted. Very nice lacework I must say. Heavy particles in flow and color were amber. Lovely thick apricot and peach aroma. Yeast, toffee, grain, spice and hint of citrus and coriander blends in there as well. Think this was the first time that I could actually feel the yeast particles in the mouth as it was going down. Medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation and light alcoholic and somewhat thick texture. Moderated sweet flavor, light bitter and a hint of acidic. Very fruity sweet and apricot lingering finish.

Bottle. Pours a beautiful red orange with a nice white head that settles as a small white island in the liquid. There are a he** of a lot of particulates in the liquid. Aroma has a backbone of caramel, but there is a barley wine feel to it. Lots of deep roasted caramel and a fruity yeastyness and a touch of vanilla. Flavour is great! Sweet, vinious, plums, raisins, vanilla and actually a peppery hoppy finish that rounds the preceedings of wonderfully.

Pours a slightly hazed orange with a healthy white head. The nose is sweet with caramel, a bit rich and fruity, but predominantly a thick almost cloying caramel malt. There’s some vanilla too I think I noticed under the heavy stink of cigarette butts... coming from elsewhere, not the beer. Mouthfeel wasn’t thin, a bit on the thicker side with low carbonation, though I swear I felt some chunkies. The flavor was in line with the nose. Big sweet caramel, a bit of fruitiness. A delightful bit of Belgian twang lending a fruity character to this. There’s a bit more hops than I think I generally find in these sorts of beer. Alcohol well hidden. A lingering sweetness that was almost chemically sweet. Not a bad beer, I need to try this again without the cigarette butt smell lingering on my porch.

The label on the bottle is different then shown here, pours a cloudy amber dirty gold with a thick head, the bottle foamed over when opened, sweetened raspberry, blackberry and strawberry aromas with a faint sour mingling through, caramel, honey, yeast and faint vanilla and malt fragrances, very faint alcohol in the nose, faint fruit aroma, sweet malt taste, touch of alcohol in the mouth, the alcohol stayed in the background when warmed, some caramel flavor, little hop bitterness on the palate, was creamy and a medium or a bit more of carbonation on the palate, touch of pepper on the tongue, some brown sugar and candy flavors, very nice drink.

Bottle at home. Unclear, orange with a small beige head. Aroma moderate malty (caramel, fruity, pepper), hoppy and yeasty. Flavor moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body, soft carbonated.
