Commercial Description:
This beer, robust in taste and strength (9%) is the tops for flavour. It has a fruity and spicy bouquet, it has a stark taste, between a sharp bitterness and a caramelised flavour. It has no sugar, and this pure malt beer oscillates between various tendencies which all round off the bitterness. It has a peppery taste at the back of the mouth and a sharpness on the tongue. It is active in the mouth and lets each flavour express itself individually. It is very active in the glass which gives it a full, lasting, head. It has a long conclusion and puts emphasis on an ever present bitterness but less supported by the caramel. The final impression is one of gingerbread without sugar.

Draft. This mighty Belgian to my mind embodies all that which lesser brewers seek to emulate: rich, perfectly ripe fruitiness and a natural sweetness, all in near-perfect harmony. Nobody else does it this well. With its gorgeous blend of oranges and honey and tantalizing yeasts, this is just one in a long line of kings emanating from that Elysium known as Belgium. All hail!

Bottled in Brussels. The typical Beligan sour trade mark, but still a balanced ale. A bit too much alcohol content, I’d say, there are good English ales at 4% with as much flavour.

Amber couloured, small white head, and lots of carbonation. Bursted out of the bottle, lots of yeast at the bottom. Yeasty sweet alcoholic fruity aroma. Full palate, some sprankling. Finish is bitter yeasty and alcoholic. Sweeter ending.

Bottle, 75 cl. Hazy orange colour with a large white head. Fruity, spicy & yeasty aroma. Nice fruity flavour. Strong but not alcoholic.

Bottle. Depp golden/orange color, cloudy and with an off-white fluffy head. Spicy, fruity (pineapple and orange) aroma with notes of yeast and some herbal hopps. Smooth mouthfeel. A cloying sweetness in the flavour makes this an mediocre belgian brew to me.

Cloudy golden/orange body with yeasty chunks, moderate carbonation and a lasting white foamy head. Very well malty aroma with various fruity (plum, grapefruit, pineapple) and flowery notes. Wonderful malty/hoppy taste that carries herbal, flowery and spicy hints. Alcohol is perfectly hidden. Ends with a long, warming and very enjoyable bittersweet finish. Very good stuff!

On tap at the Pianeta Birra, Rimini, Italy.
Nice amber coloured, pale beige creamy head. Sweet malty, very fruity (orange, plum, raisin) and mild spicy aroma with notes of toffee, dark chocolate and yeast. Mild alcoholic and dry finish.

In the bomber bottle at the 2006 Crescent Moon Extreme Beerfest. Pours light amber with a thin head. Has a pronounced butterscotch aroma with a bit of raisins thrown in. Reminds me of Yankee cider in the aroma department. Roses. Definitely roses in the aroma. The flavor has a big sweetness with some apricot. I get caramel goodness as well. The long caramel finish is like drinking candy.
