rederic (1787), montréal, Quebec, Canada Sep 15, 2006 Hazy amber-orangeish hue, with an off-white head, at the opening of the bottle, the yeast effervescence came out of the bottle. Yeasty fruity nose, of candied apricots and oranges, with a sweet caramelized malt, hint of coriander spiciness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty fruity character of candied apricots, candied orange peels, mingling with a sweet caramelized malt accent, with a peachy, orangeish flowery hops note, and spicy coriander, leading towards a smooth sweet fruity alcoholic finish. lgklotet (420), Singapore, Singapore Sep 12, 2006 Bottle (750 ml). Good looks. Hazy amber with a great head. Huge aroma, I could smell this for days. Taste is complex, fruity and palate is sweet and fiery. This is great stuff... Abbaye des Rocs impresses again. Sigmund (2197), Hafrsfjord, Norway Aug 29, 2006 RBESG, bottle. Hazy amber colour. Lovely vinous aroma with notes of barnyard. Funky and moderately oaky flavour. A very good beer. Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England Aug 29, 2006 The aroma was honey with flourals and alround outstandingness. Taste is a bit unbalanced and carbonation could have been less. Miksu (2187), Jyväskylä, Finland Aug 5, 2006 Bottled. Orange-amber color. Large floating yeast flocks in the bottle. Sweet and fruity aroma with peppery spiciness, berries, honey and perhaps acetone. Sweet, toffeish flavor with raisins, pepper, ginger and some warming alcohol. Toffee and ginger in the finish. xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 4, 2006 Bottle from Bruxelles. Big aroma of candied apples, fruit fields, baked coriander, sourdough, and caramel. Absolutely delicious beer, and amazing that its made without sugar, as its quite sweet. It’s full of all the flavor its pleasant aroma promises, with a reserved, noble malt to boot, and a nice, full complex palate and lasting finish. It looks splendid as a hazy glowing amber with a moderst tight beige head. This is a top shelf beer and I can’t help feeling it deserves a higher rating. Its palate is tangy, like an orange rind. An awakening to the senses, the sort of stuff that renews my faith in "Belgian ale" when the field is so crowded and standards have dipped so low elsewhere. SoLan (1369), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 30, 2006 Amber/copper/orange. Gas gusher. Poured with a modest, spongey, tan head after the eruption. Fully chunkified. Citrus, wheat, yeast, caramel, light fruits, bread, light herbal spiciness. Complex. Somewhat indescribable, will rerate. Doubt the scores will change much, though. Medium/full body, smooth. Excellent brew. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA Jul 24, 2006 750ml. bottle. Hazy orange color with a large white head. Nice fruity aroma of apricots and oranges with some black pepper. Sweet malty flavor with just a tad of the fruitiness that the aroma had. Black pepper, yeast and alcohol round out the perceived flavors. Highly carbonated, but still had a creamy mouthfeel.
