Commercial Description:
This beer, robust in taste and strength (9%) is the tops for flavour. It has a fruity and spicy bouquet, it has a stark taste, between a sharp bitterness and a caramelised flavour. It has no sugar, and this pure malt beer oscillates between various tendencies which all round off the bitterness. It has a peppery taste at the back of the mouth and a sharpness on the tongue. It is active in the mouth and lets each flavour express itself individually. It is very active in the glass which gives it a full, lasting, head. It has a long conclusion and puts emphasis on an ever present bitterness but less supported by the caramel. The final impression is one of gingerbread without sugar.

Very large head. Reduces quickly but has amazing carbonation to keep and nice thin sheen of foam on the surface of the brew. Fruity and spicy. A little peppermint, pepper, apricots and yeast. Color is a cloudy dark brownish orange. Fizzy in the mouth with a load of spices. The spices dominate this brew. Ginger and white pepper along with a stong alcohol presence and some sweet malts. Little bitterness. Finish is creamy yet a little dry and sharp. A good belgian but a very spicy one. Some of their other brews are better than this one.

Poured a murky orange amber with a smallish tan head. Some good lace left behind on the edged of my Orval glass. The aroma is fruity, doughy, candy sweet, ginger, and alcohol. The drink starts off fairly sweet and slowly dries after you swallow. Tangy, peppery finish. Well rounded bitterness. Not nearly as good as the other des Rocs beers, but I wouldn’t stop anybody from buying it.

Poured a clear amber color with many chunks and a small beige head. Aroma of aged caramel malt, fruity esters and light alcohol. Sweet malty flavor with a light fruitiness. Mildly sweet finish. Nice warming sensation.

Big bottle. Hazy amber, off-white creamy head. Fruity peach and oranges, caramel. Minerally yeast, a bit belgian funk. Sweet yet refreshing and not cloying - fruity finish. Medium bodied, lightfooted, sparkly mouthfeel.

Lots of effervesence. It was spewing out of the bottle seconds after I began removing the top. The aroma of citrus and fresh baked bread. First sip was creamy and tasted of grapefruit with some sweet overtones. I may be crazy but I always think of candied circus peanuts when I taste belgian beers.
