heavy (815), Split, Croatia Mar 29, 2009 15/03 0.75 l bottle from beershop.hr, shared with Doggythedog. It poured amber body with medium sized head and body full of bigger particles. Some caramel and yeasty banana aroma, along with citrus fruits, a bit spicy like almond as well. Sweetish flavor, nutty, quite nice and with fine, subtle fruity sweetness...It finishes with some slight sourness beside prolongued sweet flavor. I liked this beer quite much, contrary to my friend. Pwn3d (1040), Manhattan, New York, USA Mar 25, 2009 Literally the most sediment i’ve ever seen in a beer, in my life. Looks like someone spilled a can of cream corn in this sucker. Caramel and light malt.. a hunt of butter and sourness. One of the best session beers ever.. Excellent. DeputyAndy (60), New Jersey, USA Mar 22, 2009 Shared with Pwn3d. Ridiculous pour. Insane amount of sediment. Dark honey colour with a frothy, substantial head. Very nice caramel nose with some sweet tints. Very sweet taste with light malts and just a touch of sourness. Great mouthfeel. A superb beer.
Lubiere (4464), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Mar 17, 2009 A golden amber ale with a thick off white head. Pleasant aroma of hops, catnip and coriander. in mouth, a light candy sugar, a bit of oranges, tangerine, maple. Lighter bodied than expected but good. Bieropholie import. Doggythedog (1541), Split, Croatia Mar 15, 2009 0.75l bottle from the Croatian Beershop shared with heavy. Poured a hazy orange-red body filled with particles, medium sized persistent white head. Dusty herbal hoppy nose, some orangey notes, yeasty, some malt, tobaccoe even humm. Complex enough. The taste, even if the mouthfeel was fine and silky, was a disappointment. The taste I usually identify as beets is present, not as annoying as it can get in a beer, but enough to ruin it a bit for me. Slightly acidic hop bitterness, some bready yeastiness, generally sweet maltiness, weak. A bad bottle? Dunno, the others here liked it. It’s not my type. MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Mar 14, 2009 A Mes rate: bottle from Quinns. Very cloudy orange brown with a thin but lasting white head and lots of dark floaters in a typical Abbaye des Rocs style. Yeasty and alcoholic aroma with lots of bread and a hint of caramel. Strange Indian spiced flavour with a good hit of caramel and notes of orange in the finish. Lingering dusty spice aftertaste. It’s a strange one really, it’s good but it’s not at the same time. All the ingredients are there and it’s certainly very well made but somehow it just fails to deliver. On par with the rest from this brewer if you ask me. ha1ag (415), Maastricht, Netherlands Mar 9, 2009 Bottled from Carrefour in LIege. Perfect visual, hazy dark amber colour, tough long lasting thick head. Hoppy spicy nose. Aroma is fruity and hops. Flavour is sour and stinking yeasty. Very complex, full bodied, flavour. Very nice!!! eManu (172), Brussels, Belgium Mar 8, 2009 Pours a hazy orange brown with a nice thick tan head. Aroma is sweet and fruitfull with a floral fragance. Flavors are caramel and dry fruits and a little sour. A very nice and pleasant beer, easy to drink.
