Commercial Description:
This beer, robust in taste and strength (9%) is the tops for flavour. It has a fruity and spicy bouquet, it has a stark taste, between a sharp bitterness and a caramelised flavour. It has no sugar, and this pure malt beer oscillates between various tendencies which all round off the bitterness. It has a peppery taste at the back of the mouth and a sharpness on the tongue. It is active in the mouth and lets each flavour express itself individually. It is very active in the glass which gives it a full, lasting, head. It has a long conclusion and puts emphasis on an ever present bitterness but less supported by the caramel. The final impression is one of gingerbread without sugar.

Murky orange/brown color with a thin bubbled off-white head. Huge gingerbread, caramel, aroma with bits of licorice. Sweet taste doesn't really match up to the aroma.

(Draught) Hazy amber beer; yellowish head. Smells a bit green, aromatic but no hops, yeasty and a touch spicey. Bitter taste as from bitter almonds - maybe vegetable bitter too (Brussels' endives or suchlike). Not very distinctive. Sticky mouthfeel. Aftertaste becomes sweet, even cloying with a bitterness more remindful of scorched sugar. It's definitely sweet, and not my cup of, euh, beer.

Belgium amber with a nice head. Hazy amber/orange color. Subdued malt, and low key hops this beer is about the fruits and spices. Very good but not great.

Cloudy orange/amber with piles of junk floating around. Huge foamy head. Hopped, sweet aroma. Fizzy mouthfeel. Vanilla bean, yeast, spice, and lots of sweet fruit come through. Has a brandy like quality.

33 cl. brown, slender bottle. Best before date is of 3/2006. Still pretty fresh, too. Poured out a hazy orangish copper color, with a thick, tan colored head. The head stuck around until the bottom of the glass. Aromas are of spiced oranges, some cloves, and strangely enough, pineapples. Malts are strong, but subdued. Hops are practically non-existant, both in aromas and flavors. Chunky yeast bits floating in the mix. Highly carbonated, almost too much so. Sweet tasting, almost like a soda. Not cloying, but sweet on the palate. Medium mouthfeel and sweet finish to it as well. An ok Belgian, but nothing special in my book.

Cloudy amber body. A dense concentration of small yeast-particles in the body. White frothy head, fully diminishing and virtually not lacing. You can smell the aroma when pourring it out. Hoppy (pine-orange) aroma and also some yoghurt in the aroma. Heavily acidic and lighlty bitter initial flavour. Moderately acidic and moderately bitter (long) finish. You can also sometimes feel the yeast-particles, slipping trough your lips. Oily texture, lively and moderately alcoholic mouthfeel.

Off white creamy head. Dark amber color. Aroma is malt, fruity with apricots, orange peel and light spicy notes. Flavor is malty too with dark fruits tones, ending in a moderately sweet, slightly spicy finish. Medium to full bodied.

Lots of flavor. Some bitterness, sweetness. A finish with a hint of laqurice. Spices.
