COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer, robust in taste and strength (9%) is the tops for flavour. It has a fruity and spicy bouquet, it has a stark taste, between a sharp bitterness and a caramelised flavour. It has no sugar, and this pure malt beer oscillates between various tendencies which all round off the bitterness. It has a peppery taste at the back of the mouth and a sharpness on the tongue. It is active in the mouth and lets each flavour express itself individually. It is very active in the glass which gives it a full, lasting, head. It has a long conclusion and puts emphasis on an ever present bitterness but less supported by the caramel. The final impression is one of gingerbread without sugar.

Drinking this beer for the first time. A total surprise. I live right now in Germany and have had a lot of German and Belgian beers. This was a total surprise. I would enjoy drinking this beer on a warm night like tonight. caramel, citrus, earthy,

Robe ruby, peu de carbo, petit collet fuyant. Aromes leger fruits rouges, caramel, pain d’épices.

Bottle at home in London with JP - sourced from Beermerchants. Opens with a pop and appears to be a slow gusher; but tonight I’m on my game and get the pour going in time. Alas, there are many floaty bits in this amber-orange beer - which also has a surprisingly weak, foamy off-white head. The nose holds strong notes of butterscotch, toffee, stewed fruits, candi sugar, Belgian yeast, berries. Big sweet flavor, fairly sticky, with some sturdy fruit character, bready malts, toffee, meaty dates, slight grain husk. Medium bodied with average, active carbonation; the spritliness of the bubbles definitely lifts the palate. Lightly warming finish with some yeast character, esters, more berries, ripe and lightly dried fruits, hearty bread, more toffee. Nice beer, just nothing to lift it above the pack.

Dark orange with lots of sediment and a small beige head. Aroma of yeast, caramel and fruit. Taste is a little sweet, sour and spicy.
