(Bottled, 0.75l) Very hazy reddish orange color with a very large, foamy, lasting and lacy head. Very yeasty (De dolle/Fantome-like), slightly tart, grainy-malty, perfumy-lemony-hoppy aroma. Grainy-malty, smoothly bitter, perfumy-lemony flavor with an acidic finish. Hides the ABV excellently. Medium to full-bodied, refreshing (but warming at the same time), sticky-slicky and slightly foamy-carbonated palate. Like a blend of Orval hoppiness, De Dolle yeastiness, and a hint of refreshing, triple-like, malty sweetness. A very enjoyable, balanced, refreshing and characterful brew - a true work of art, and a Belgian Strong Ale at its finest!
(Rated 11/28/2003, was 6-3-7-4-14=3.4) Fresh, fruity, citric aroma. Light, sweet, refreshing taste with some hops. Quite blonde-like beer. Not bad.

Aug 24, 2008 Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured hazy orange color with a large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma was complex sweet yeast and citrus. Medium sticky body with thin particles and soft carbonation. Medium sweet yeasty flavor with medium sweet with small alcohol bite finish. Good sweet complex brew.

Aug 22, 2008 Bouteille verte de 750 ml obtenue via Importations Privées Bièropholie. Arôme: Odeur d’agrumes et de caramel avec une pointe d’épices. Apparence: La couleur est ambrée voilée avec une moyenne densité de bulle. Présence d’un moyen col beige pétillant et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de caramel et d’orange légèrement amer avec une pointe d’épices. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture minérale. Forte effervescence en bouche. Arrière goût légèrement caramélisé. (Rating #1894)

Aug 14, 2008 A hazy orange/amber colored beer, with a light beige thick foamy head. The aroma is nice fruity, toffee and caramel. There are some hops in the back. The taste is complex fruity, raisins, prune, pears, peaches, orange. It has a nice sweetness and a little bitter. In the back some yeast and hops. It has a dry aftertaste.

Jul 15, 2008 Bottle at Cambrinus, 6/21 in Bruges. Pours dark amber with minimal head. Aroma of caramel malts with additional notes of fruits. Taste is sweet, bnut not cloy. There is a lot of complexity on this beer, with additional notes of spice and wine. A very good beer from one of my favorite brewers.
